The talking in this Super Mega Baseball 2 trailer is so quick that we’ve had to watch it three times to eke all of the information out of it, so don’t say we never do anything for you. As it happens, once you make sense of the blur of words, it sounds like the arcade ball game is packing some pretty powerful multiplayer features.
In addition to dedicated servers, the title will boast a nifty matchmaking system similar to the one in FIFA, where you work your way through leagues by winning matches. But if competitive play isn’t your thing, you’ll be able to invite PlayStation Network players into your game, as if they exist locally. This means you can play co-op campaign over the Internet and more.
There’s no word on a release date for this sequel just yet, but with Spring Training well underway, it can’t be far off.

I played the first game and it was ok til you got to the absurdly complicated upgrade system. What's wrong with just having regular categories with easily identified stats? I stopped going for the Ego 80 trophy when I realized I'd need to grind out tons of games to get the necessary upgrades.
I hope there is still a single player mode. Some of us don’t really care about online play, I know that’s hard to believe.
