Abhorrent weather conditions here in the UK mean that weather is the top talking point on these shores right now, and you’re damn well sure we’re going to use it to pen the problematic first paragraph of this week's WAYP. The conditions have been catastrophic for some, but while we wish everyone a safe and warm weekend, there’s no doubt that it’s the perfect backdrop for a couple of days gaming.

I finally finished up Mafia III, as I continue to enforce my self-imposed “new game ban” and clear out my backlog. Next up I’m taking on a bunch of smaller games, like Blackwood Crossing and Little Red Lie.

First and foremost, I’ll be checking out the Yakuza 6 demo to see how it compares to the magnificent Yakuza 0. I may also finally get started on Dishonored 2, which I received for my birthday. (I was also lucky enough to get a Switch, because I'm a traitor.)

Since the Beast from the East brought the UK to a standstill with copious amounts of snow, it’s the perfect excuse to stay in all weekend. Monster Hunter: World, SMITE, and Elite Dangerous are all on the cards as I try and avoid any reason to leave the house.

A mostly Steam weekend for me as Where the Water Tastes Like Wine and honestly that's all I really need for the weekend. At least until the new year of content kicks off for Rainbow Six this week.

For relaxing times, I choose Steep – a game I just picked up on the cheap in the Ubisoft sale, and maybe a little bit of Moss on PlayStation VR. But most of my weekend will be taken up with Mulaka, with a review on the way soon.

Now that the Olympics are over I can get back to some full time gaming. This weekend it will be Secret of Mana which I am enjoying just as much as the original, Assassin's Creed Origins, and a bit of Battlefield 1.
How will you be occupying yourself this weekend? What games have you got on the agenda? As always, let us know in the comments section below.

Well my wife and kids are all ill with a stomach bug so I am running around and waiting for the inevitable. If I get a chance to game I will carry on with my return to Portal 2 and possibly either Doom on Switch or start Oxenfree. Will probably just end up puking though.
@Rudy_Manchego Good luck navigating the germs! Hope everyone's better soon.
@get2sammyb Thanks - these kids are worse then that Monkey from Outbreak. Disgusting.
I finally started playing World of Final Fantasy and I'm having a ton of fun with it.
metal gear surive cant get off it the more you play the more it reward you
Finally getting into dark souls 2
Defending the brilliant Evil Within 2 earlier this week to @Ralizah got me in the mood for another play through so I'm doing a NG+, and enjoying the benefit of the PS Pro patch this time round. It's quite a beautiful game really.
Elsewhere, @KratosMD got me hankering for more Zelda BOTW so I've been back on that after 4 weeks off and I'm having a great time.
I fired up Xenoblade Chronicles 2 last night to try out the new NG+ - played the intro and opening sequence. God I love this game, Rex is up there with Zidane for me. I'm going to slowely play through it again until the story DLC drops at the end of the year.
Then I have Crossing Souls to finish up - great game, I'm near the end.
And finally I have some friends round later so I'll probably take some names on Everybody's Tennis where I'm the undisputed champion. We'll maybe do a bit of Mario Kart 8 on Switch and Mario Kart 1 on the SNES, too.
So plenty going on. Happy weekend chaps!!
Does Persona 5 ever end, or is the game perpetually endless? Because I’m beginning to think I’ve been trying to finish this game for an eternity.
Thankfully the game is a blast.
@Rudy_Manchego I was laid up last Friday and Saturday with a stomach bug/food poisoning. So grim and I'm an absolute wuss when it comes to actually throwing up. I'll fight it to the bitter end when really you should just let it all out and feel better haha
So...is the Yakuza 6 already available again? Since Stephen mentions it...
Horizon: Zero Dawn, finishing The Frozen Wilds. Also some Gravity Rush 2 as I continue to try and clear out my backlog before Yakuza 6 and God of War.
No gaming for me this weekend. The bus and trains were actually running today so I'm on my way to my Ma's. I forgot to pack my 3DS or Vita. I did almost finish Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix yesterday though.
This weather has been a blessing and a curse, walking to work taking me an hour to get there but also shorter working hours ( and sent home yesterday)and more play time
I'll be helping my little friend Quill in the excellent Moss for PSVR,attempting to take down the 10th Colossus in SOTC and starting the third trial in Danganronpa v3 for the ps4.
My Switch will get a look in with Bayonetta and my 3ds won't be forgotten either as I continue the excellent but pretty confusing Radiant Historia.
And I might go out and build a snowman for good measure...or not.
Started Yakuza Zero I've never really given the series a chance so I'm gonna finish it
Also need to grind out the ability points on Far Cry Primal for the Platinum but I don't know if I cba tbh
Switch: Bayonetta 2
PSVita: Digimon Story CS- HM
Same games as last week. Not been doing much gaming in the week, so hopefully I’ll change this up over the weekend.
@Fight_Teza_Fight Bayonetta 2 is my next purchase. Not in a big rush, but looking forward to it all the same. Then I'll get the 1st one. Dunno why I feel like playing them backwards!
I've been dabbling with a lot of games, but most of my time has been spent with Etrian Odyssey V and Metroid Prime. Both absolutely fantastic games!
@Th3solution An initial playthrough lasts roughly 100+ hours. Mine lasted 115. Can you imagine the sheer size of that game's script?
@Rudy_Manchego Hope you feel better soon!
Shadow of the Colossus & Monster Hunter World!
@Gamer83 What do you think of the HZD expansion?
@Th3solution I can confirm the torture does end. Eventually.
@get2sammyb Lol! I set that one up for you.
I'll be entertaining a dead brother, planning an auction heist and trying to get a long wilted rose from a grieving dead wife. All of this as a proxy to arguably the best game baddie ever.
@Ralizah Yeah, the script is huge. Despite working through P5 slowly over the course of several months, I am enjoying it a lot. It doesn’t really drag on much and there is always a new character introduced or a new event to keep it fresh for me. I played P4 Golden the same way — spread out over more than a year. I do have a goal to finish P5 in the first quarter of the year, so I’ve got about 4 weeks left. Not sure I’ll make it but we’ll see.
@kyleforrester87 It’s pretty easily my favourite game on Switch. If it was on PS I would’ve gone for the platinum. Might do another play through on hard as the campaign is pretty short.
You might find it hard going back to Bayonetta after Bayo2. The first game is really hard in comparison.
@Fight_Teza_Fight i have only played 30 minutes of the first one so don't really know anything about the series. Just feel like starting with the second! Looks a bit more flashy!
You got any interest in XBC2 on Switch btw?
Near the end of the greatest game ever, knack 1
After this I think I'll finish shantae half-genie hero dlc and back to monhun again.
I don't even know. I want to play a mix of MHW, DBFZ and Pillars of Eternity but my depression is really weighing on me at the moment and I can't seem to stick with anything for more than 10 minutes.
Monster Hunter XX: Switch
Although was playing World yesterday...
@ApostateMage The Greatest Expansion of All Time
I took advantage of the PSN critics sale and $15 credit for spending $100 and got Gravity Rush 2, Mass Effect: Andromeda, Need for Speed, Ghost Recon, Watch Dogs 2, PvZ: Garden Warfare 2, Crypt of the Necrodancer, Inside, Three Fourths Home, and The Bridge for $101.20...so one of those maybe?
@kyleforrester87 Definitely looking to play XBC2 at some point, but I still have to beat Zelda first!
One open world game at a time.
I hope by the time I beat Zelda, Nintendo announce that they’re porting the first game over to Switch.
I’m basically the inverse of you ! I can’t just jump into a series mid way through.
@Fight_Teza_Fight cool I really can't overstate how much I enjoyed it. I'm play XBC1 on 3DS now, it's good but can't deny I'd prefer to play it on a bigger screen. The director did say he'd like to do XBX on Switch.. id be up for that, and it's likely as a Wii U port..
Either way XBC2 is fine to play without having played the last ones.
Finished Torment: Tides of Numenera couple of days ago and played through Metro 2033 in three days I think and now I'm messing around in Watch Dogs 2. Think I'll put some hours into that. I'm one of the few who moderately liked the first one and the sequel seems slightly better.
I picked up Warriors All-Stars. After Dynasty Warriors 9, I need to clense my pallette with an actual Warriors game.
@ShogunRok Indeed, indeed.
His smile fair as spring, as towards him he draws you
His tongue sharp and silvery, as he implores you
Your wishes he grants, as he swears to adore you
Gold, silver, jewels – he lays riches before you
Dues need be repaid, and he will come for you
All to reclaim, no smile to console you
He’ll snare you in bonds, eyes glowing’, a fire
To gore and torment you, till the stars expire
@Octane
Love it. I enjoy a good story and this one adds to the lore but the main thing was some of the machines you get to face off against. The Frostclaw and Fireclaw being standouts for me.
@kyleforrester87 shouldn't you really wait for Bayonetta 3 then?
Splinter Cell Hd Ps3 & Destiny the collection i got for a 10er in the week.
Playing South park fractured but whole, it's good but somehow preferred stick of truth! Just ordered a switch today for my birthday later in march. Never played a Zelda ever and can't wait to see what the hype is all about!!
Monster Hunter World, Street Fighter V, Dragon Ball Fighter Z, WWE 2K18, and King of Fighters 14 for PS4. Not sure if I can make time for all of those, but I’m gonna try. Also Bayonetta games on Switch.
Gravel. I played the demo for a couple of hours before deciding to buy the game. I'm only 3 hours or so into the game, but already it's even better than I expected; the different environments look awesome, you can set your car, the sound is fantastic, the handling can be as easy or tough as you want, lots of single-player content, and it runs smoothly on the regular PS4.
Also, some Monster Hunter World, GT Sport, and Lost Sphear.
Kicking butt in Yakuza Kiwami, and maybe try to make some progress in clearing out my massive backlog (Uncharted 4, Watch Dogs 2, The Order....)
Monster Hunter: World and I started Dying Light.
Down with the flu, so I wanted something that wouldn't hurt me … so, pleasantly surprised by Rime.
Nioh: Complete Edition. I've been reforging my weapons for better stats. I have a pretty strong one now which I'm liking so far.
Final Fantasy 14 Online: StormBlood. Geared up my Samurai's ilevel to 342, and got a stronger weapon than my old one.
Tomb Raider. Taking my time with this, and enjoying it. I eventually want to get Rise of The Tomb Raider.
Witcher 3, guess I'll be playing this for the rest of my life, seems pretty long.
Sotc, I'm only on colossi 3. Controls a little janky but beautiful game.
Final Fantasy XIII on the PS3 and Dissidia NT on the PS4
Everybody's Golf and MH 👌🏾
Playing Metal Gear Rising Revengeance, and this is awesome.
Continuing with Final Fantasy IX and get further in Sonic Mania with a bit of Yoshis Island DS when on breaks at work.
I finally finished Chain of Memories...as Sora. So now I'll be doing it as Riku. I'm also debating if I should jump back in MGSV or wait until I've finished more stuff.
I’ve a bunch of Paradox Interactives Grand Strategy games on my laptop so I’m spending the weekend trying to learn how play them! also playing some Football Manager Touch and Smite on Sunday
@GlynCR errr nah!!
Persona 5 is still excellent. @Th3Solution I’m at 30 hours in, so I’ve got my work cut out for me.
I’m also playing the oddly mesmerizing Sims 3 after my Sister told me I should play it and it was on sale on steam. I got the fast lane, university, Amibtions, World Adventures, Late Night, and supernatural. I’m also probably going to pop FFXV in too.
I finished Uncharted Lost Legacy and began Dishonoured Definitive Edition on PS4 a couple of days ago and am thoroughly enjoying it so far , my wife has finished both of them and I liked the look of the snippets I saw. My good lady has begun Prey this week too.
@Bonbonetti yes same here! gravel is an awesome arcade racer. As mentioned before I cant figure out the hdr issue with the game.
Also playing battlezone for psvr, and R6 siege.
I tried to start Rime last night, beautiful but it was so relaxing I fell asleep on the sofa and woke up at 3am.
I'm going to drink fifteen cups of coffee and try again in a bit.
Persona 5. The key thing to remember is a cat talking about pancakes.
Strangely enough (given the picture of the article) I've been playing Last of Us Remastered. Just finished it this evening. I've got too many games to play to play through it again for all the collectibles, but I'll do the 'Left Behind' DLC before I move on to any next game
Going all in on The Division, the global events are back every weekend in March. Time to complete all my classified sets!
Completed TellTale's Batman Season 1. Really good . And i got my first platinum.
Continuing with Dishonored 2
Going to kill the last boss in The Surge then jump straight into a NG+ playthrough. Was a bit wary of this due to LotF being, well, garbage really. Deck13 have redeemed themselves with this game.
I'll be playing XCOM 2: War of the Chosen on PC. I've decided to play through the game in Ironman mode with some cool mods for added fun. Naming your soldiers after friends and then watching them horrifically die in combat is a blast, and also heartbreaking when you can't savescum.
I started playing Horizon: Zero Dawn (PS4) after finally beating inFAMOUS: First Light (PS4).
Just completed the Proving, haven't gotten any further yet.
Just finishing up the Horizon Zero Dawn DLC and then I’m going to jump on Assasins Creed Origins
Ryse, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Mercenaries Saga Chronicles. PS4 breather for a bit to catch up on some other systems.
@RoyalGuard Glad you like it as well. Playing the game I'm getting so many flashbacks of Sega Rally (2007) and Baja, two of my favourite racing games. I did notice some framerate drops in the Stadium races, when I was playing last night. I hope it's something they can fix.
Hoping to finish Moss which is outstanding, trying the yakuza 6 demo as just finished yakyza 0 which was awesome. Need to finish off steins Gate on the vita aswell.
@Shigurui I normally don't enjoy games like The Surge, but for some reason this game really clicked with me. It could well be because I'm biased towards anything sci-fi, and this being a very cool sci-fi game in my opinion. I know people criticized the storyline and all that, but I thought it was interesting. I haven't tried NG+ myself.
I have played some Lords of the Fallen as well, but did not enjoy it that much, especially the boss fights, they felt too tedious for me.
god of war 3
Snagged the Far Cry Primal Platinum earlier, grind for XP at the end, number 50 just wish I'd got it for a better game
Bloodborne! With it being on plus this month I've started a new character build so I can lend a hand to the new players who will undoubtedly need a hand with Rom and Amelia.
@brubeck Same here, haven't played anything else since it launched, loving it
Bit of this, bit of that. But I am putting a bit of time into my Uncharted 2 hard run this weekend
