D-Pad Studio has announced that its celebrated pixel art platformer, Owlboy, is finally heading to PS4. The digital version of the game is due to release on 10th April. The game was first announced for PS4 with a 13th February release date, but it never materialised, and was quietly delayed.
The trailer above also includes a reminder that you'll be able to purchase a physical edition of the title, published by Soedesco, which will be made available on 29th May.
We're very pleased to finally have a confirmed date for Owlboy. The critical reception has been very strong on other platforms, so we're excited to finally see what all the fuss is about. Are you looking forward to Owlboy? Will you be playing it on PS4 next week? Try not to get in a flap in the comments below.

Already bought this for the Switch..but thanks for the article because you just reminded me i haven't started it yet.
@Wazeddie22 i also got this on switch and started it yesterday. Give it some time as the lack of map can see you flying around without really knowing where to go. Get that first hour out of the way and it becomes an incredible game. I must have put in about 4 hours yesterday.
@JoeBlogs I’ve heard it’s a hoot!
Joke: why don’t owls make love in the rain? Cause it’s too-wet-to-woo!...
(I know it’s hard to fathom, but I am not a professional comedian)
Add this to the list of games I thought you already had.
Played it on PC. And if a game is good enough to make me sit in front of my PC outside working hours...it's GOOOOOD.
will be picking this up.
Brilliant game and very beautiful well worth the money
@Kidfunkadelic83 Have read a lot of comments referring to and complaining about a lack of map.I think all games like this should have a map but no biggie,I don't give up that easily.looking forward to starting it
Im sure you will enjoy it as much as i am.
I’m sure this game will be a hoot!
I usually buy indies that use pixel art on switch now, unless the game has cross buy and cross-save between ps4 and psvita.
I'll wait for a discount though, $25 is a little too expensive for pixel art games I think. Supergiant games (transistor, pyre) has raise the expectation for indie games for me
The art style is a turn off, and it looks similar to too many other games.
FINALLYY!!! that delay was killing me im so excited for this
Looks cool. Gotta clear backlog a bit first tho
Was going to get this on Switch, but the price put me off.
Now that's coming to PS4 I imagine it'll be £10 within 3 months.
I can wait .
