Over on the North American PS Store, the Golden Week sale has started, discounting a bunch of Japanese games by up to 60%. Now, the European Store has its own version, named Big in Japan.
The titles on offer are much the same, though there are some additions; Shadow of the Colossus, Gravity Rush 2, and Tekken 7 all appear to be unique to this offering, for example. There's a big range going cheap, with the sale also including Monster Hunter: World, Persona 5, NieR: Automata, Nioh, and lots more.
It's well worth having a browse, as there are hundreds of games included across PS4, PS3, and Vita. Click here to take a look.

Update: The PlayStation Blog has posted about the above sale, including a gigantic list of the games included.

Do not buy Persona 5. Don’t trust Push Square Game of the Year awards.
may be a stupid question, but will the sale make it's it's way to the european store aswell?
@get2sammyb I second this! Don't buy this "Weeb Trash" *rushes off to buy Nier
a lot of stuff is still overpriced but some good bargins like
Odin Sphere Leifthrasir £11.99
Fairy Fencer F: Advent Dark Force £9.99
Dark Rose Valkyrie 8.99
DYNASTY WARRIORS: Godseekers £15.99
Yakuza Kiwami £9.99
some of these might not be the best games in the world but they are far cheaper than a physical copy
@jdv95
this sale is for the European store! been a big in japan sale for years here and most of the time the offering have been better than golden week in america
Ooooh Okami HD! so cheap!... But it's coming to Switch this summer. The first world struggle is real!
Actually just finished shadow of the collosus. Still not recovered. Absolute masterpiece
Buy Persona 5. Trust the Push Square Game of the Year awards.
(and the 94 it has on Metacritic)
Buy persona 5 and nier.
You can buy Persona 5 if you want, but you don't have to. You can trust the Push Square Game of the Year awards, but ultimately it's down to your personal taste.
All this talk about Persona 5, I'm actually going to get P3FES!
"Tokyo look at these deals"..............................................
Persona 5 is still too expensive for me. I'll wait till it goes sub 20 quid.
Is this sale actually going to show up on the PS4 storefront or is it a web based only sale? Seems like the discounts were added hours ago but nothing shows up
I'm interested in Shadow Tactics, for £9 I think. I have zero interest in Japanese RPG's etc, so never that bothered about the Big in Japan sale.
The Digital sale has some good stuff in there as well, but it's all stuff I'm happy to wait to turn up on Plus I think.
@Gremio108 Some of my finest work, if I do say so myself.
Shadow of the Colossus, Nier Automata, Persona 5 and Nioh are all tempting for me, but I might resist getting anything this sale. I've already got enough games on my plate at the moment.
Edit: Hatsune Miku Future Tone is on sale again. I've been really enjoying it since buying it in the last sale. And Monster Hunter World is a brilliant game.
I snapped up Valkyria Chronicles. Bloomin' marvellous game and a bargain at six Great British pounds and forty nine pence.
Persona 5 is still too expensive. But it is time to finally "complete" my digital Vita jrpg "collection". There are some I missed in the discounts.
I’ve just added years to my backlog... .
Sorry future me, but have fun with Danganropa V3 when you get to it.
So I got Monster Hunter, Tekken 7, Yakuza zero, Pyre, Parappa remastered, Inside, Iconoclasts,, Oxenfree, SF5 year 1 characters, and Ultimate MvC 3.....
I resisted GT sport, Friday 13th, Nioh season pass, Dead Rising 4, Yakuza Kiwami, Resi 7 season pass and Magicka 2.
@Perryg92 Haha ill be buying it on Switch, mainly for the motion and touch controls, they'll make it the definitive edition i think, though its a shame it isn't getting a physical release on Switch.
@Toadie good sell! Plus the handheld factor is a huge pro for me. Switch it is!!
Sorry PlayStation!!...Although you aren't out of pocket from me as i got "A Hat in Time" and "Human Fall Flat" instead in the "Totally Digital" sale 😂... (and God of War last week!)
@Perryg92 Haha i can't keep up with all the games coming out, i want so many, like DK Tropical Freeze, Hyrule Warriors, Captain Toad on Switch, God Of War on PS4, just don't have the money for them all, having to cherry pick which ones i want the most, i've just bought Wonderboy and Detective Pikachu though, looking forward to trying them
@Toadie totally understand the feeling of being overwhelmed by all the games. It's just hit after hit!! And September for example is scaring me now with Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Spider-Man and Spyro all within 2 weeks of each other 😱
@Perryg92 Yeah i want all of those too lol Especially Spiderman, i'm super hyped for that !
I'm gonna hold off on Spyro though, pretty sure it'll come to Switch sooner or later
So many games and that's before E3 too, i'm sure even more will be announced and for this year too, i'm hoping Pikmin 4 will finally get revealed, the wait is killing me lol
@Perryg92 I daren't even look at this new Japanese sale, there's bound to be some tempting games on sale haha
Yakuza Kiwami £9.99
Take my money!
Good sale for the most part but some of the prices are ridiculous..(Summon Night for example!) and the one game I have really been hoping for isant there...Atelia Sophie
Still,I'm kind of tempted by Tales Of Berseria but the last few have been dissapointing..
Was hoping to get Tekken 7 but $40 is still too much atm. So many games so little time...
@Wazeddie22
Berseria was a real return to form for the series the best in a while
I might buy Wild guns reloaded.
Ouch, right in the wallet. My favourite kind of PS Store sale, although that sentiment is probably less than obvious if I don't even remember if it has happened in spring before. I exected it in July again! A whole lot of my Vita wishlist is right here, so I'll see if I can squeeze some funds before next payday - but it's still reassuring to see the deals last until May 10. And still annoying that the store's bank card limitations pretty much dictate spending mostly at 1000 ruble increments - makes things awkward with the titles sold for a little more or much less. Oh well, first world problems and all that.
@get2sammyb Dude, very unprofessional. You might not like JRPG's, but as a member of the press you need to not let your bias show. Honestly, I think it's a bit overrated, but to say it's bad because you don't like the genre as a whole is not a good idea as a member of the professional press.
@ReanSchwarzer7 I mean, my post was tongue in cheek. But it's not unprofessional for me to not like something.
@suikoden yeah, been hearing that alot.Got a lot of games to get on with but will most probably have that game in my backlog before the sale ends
