Werewolves! Monsters! Crazy religious cults! It seems there’ll be a lot more supernatural to Vampyr’s plot, as this story trailer teases all sorts of shenanigans on London’s cobbled streets. To be honest, we’re not entirely sure what this clip is trying to tell us, but it serves as a decent mood piece – we especially like the song choice.
The game’s due out on 5th June, so we expect Focus Home Interactive to get a bit more heavy-handed with the promotional videos over the next couple of months. We hope that this turns out well, because there aren’t enough vampire-inspired role-playing games these days.

I was looking forward to this, now im REALLY looking forward to this.
It looks really interesting, maybe I will buy it on the release date.
Right, I'm off to find the best deal on this one.
I'm buying this one Day one, no matter the review
Penny Dreadful: The Game
Looking good definitely a game on my radar.word up son
@fabisputza00 Ditto, a game with vampire stuff will always grab my interest, so I’ve been looking forward to this one since I first heard about it ages ago 🧛♂️
Certainly on my radar but still going to wait to see how it reviews. Wasn't a fan of Remember Me and Life is Strange so a bit apprehensive - saying that though, the game looks to have a lot of potential...
I loved Life Is Strange, Can't wait to love this one too!
Hyped even more for this game, definitely giving it a go once it hits $25 during a sale.
@BAMozzy I loved Remember Me but haven't played Life is Strange, do you think I'd like it?
@ToddlerNaruto I don't know, they are quite different games. Remember Me is an Action game where as Life is Strange is an episodic graphic adventure story. That's kind of like asking 'If I like Dying Light, Arkham Asylum etc, would I like the Telltale Walking Dead, Batman episodic stories?'
Life is Strange was awarded quite a number of accolades for its story and acting by Ashly Burch. Its got a sequel thanks to its success but its not a genre I like at all. The only similarities between the two are that they both have Female leads and addresses similar themes of memory and identity but the pace is different.
@BAMozzy I only connected the two because you mentioned them both .
Asked because I've never playing an episodic graphic adventure story before.
Do you think they're easier to beat/play thru? Even with all the multiple branches the stories can take?
@ToddlerNaruto I don't like episodic graphic stories either so I am not the best one to ask. I believe @get2sammyb really liked Life is Strange and it was critically successful - whether that's because it wasn't in a heavily competitive genre or not, I don't know. Regardless, I don't feel I am the best to ask as I don't enjoy these games
@BAMozzy @ToddlerNaruto You'll love Life Is Strange if you're into teen fiction stuff. Stuff like The Fault in Our Stars and movies like Lady Bird.
I absolutely love it. In terms of gameplay it's essentially a Telltale game.
@BAMozzy Oh okay, thanks for the answer. Btw, do you mind me asking why you dislike games like Remember Me or Life is Strange?
@get2sammyb I've never heard of either thing, are there other teen fiction examples?
I tried playing the first Walking Dead game before, was turned off by the multiple decisions.
@ToddlerNaruto Erm. I guess Harry Potter, but it's not really like Harry Potter. The Perks of Being a Wallflower? Stuff like that.
There are multiple decisions through this.
@get2sammyb Yes, but Vampyr will be an action adventure game so I'm fine with it.
Thanks for the fast response.
@ToddlerNaruto I thought we were talking about Life Is Strange?
Sorry, I'm confused. It's my bad. I thought you were asking about Life Is Strange.
@ToddlerNaruto I really don't like the TellTale 'games' - to me they are the same as the choose your own adventure books more than a game and, being in my '40's', not interested in 'teen-fiction' so that counts out Life is Strange.
As for Remember Me?, is mediocre with a few interesting ideas that are never fully realised. Combat is tedious with little freedom to explore and mundane platforming too. It would have made a better movie - at least the premise of it. Overall its 'ok' but it really doesn't live up to the potential and the game-play is rather tedious. Considering we have much better action adventure games with far better combat and 'platforming/parkour', its average at best.
This is why I can say that I am apprehensive about this game. I like the theme and setting but with the quality of games we have today, I don't know if it will stand-up with them or end up falling a bit flat.
@get2sammyb I was replying to "There are multiple decisions through this.", which I assumed you meant Vampyr.
My apologies for the confusion.
@BAMozzy What was wrong with the choose your own adventure books? I loved those as a kid.
Also I'm 29 and still like teen fiction, does that make me weird? XP
To each their own regarding Remember Me, but I can see from your perspective why it wasn't so good.
@ToddlerNaruto Nothing was wrong with the choose your own adventure books but they were something I read when I couldn't game. The difference between a 'game' and an interactive story like 'Life is Strange' or the Telltale stories though is that if a game story is weak or doesn't interest you so much, the game-play can still be fun and present enough of a challenge or reason to progress where as these interactive stories, the story is the only reason to buy.
I am also 16 years older than you so a different generation. It doesn't make you weird to like teen fiction and some can still be entertaining/interesting for adults too but a lot doesn't resonate with me.
As you say, each to their own - I would still prefer to see a diverse selection of choice than every 'game' be virtually the same. As a result, not every game or every genre will appeal and even within genres, there will be games that will resonate more than others.
@BAMozzy What no way, you're 45?! I had just assumed you were around 30s or younger.
Oh so you're saying interactive story games don't have much unique/challenging gameplay, gotcha.
