The latest God of War trailer's quite an interesting one, with director Cory Barlog and his team going over what you can expect from the game's -- dare we say it -- RPG elements. This includes a look at how customisable Kratos is as a playable character. You can chop and change his equipment and his combat abilities to suit your style, or alter them to fit certain situations.
While the new God of War's most definitely an action adventure title first and foremost, it's no secret that light RPG mechanics like these are beginning to seep into just about everything. We're looking forward to seeing what kinds of crazy character builds people come up with for the bearded warrior.

So, does this mean I can give Kratos' beard to his son? As a type of accessory?
Only a week and a half, everyone! The hype is real.
I just hope we have some different weapons and I hope reviews don't spoil that for us
A little worried when I first read this, thought you were customizing Kratos like a build your own character in Skyrim or DBXV, which would defeat the whole point of the game, as Kratos is Kratos. If we are just talking equipment, well that's fine, I just don't see it as Kratos customization.
In both Zelda BotW and H:ZD characters have a wide variety of clothing to purchase and wear, and it really made a difference in Zelda based on your environment, but 60 hours into H:ZD I think I only own 3 outfits and they really don't seem to make that much of a difference. Weapons make a huge difference in H:ZD, I have purchased almost every one of those, but clothing, even modded, hasn't made the game noticeably different for me.
Unless it makes a difference I won't do much tinkering with what Kratos wears, I do like playing around with all different weapon types though, sometimes I like sniping, sometimes I like charging in, sometimes I like fast sword play, sometimes a heavy hitting hammer will do. You play a game long enough, you're going to want to mix it up a little.
@AFCC I agree, hopefully PushSquare's guides are mindful of that when the game comes out.
@adf86 I think I've seen every single video and interview there is and honestly I feel like I don't know nothing about the game!
New weapons? Who knows? Enemies besides the basic ones and the trolls? Not in any video! Story? Almost nothing!
I feel like we'll have so much to discover and the game will be a 10/10!
So I'm hopeful that after the 12th we won't be spoiled in any specific topic
@AFCC Here's hoping mate, I had a big easter egg in Uncharted 4 spoiled before the game was even out by Eurogamer just because they wanted the cheap hits.
So a word to PushSquare about any guides you put up on GoW, if you end up using Kratos's blades of chaos at some point, DON'T give it away in the title or thumbnail.
I don't really want to know anything about it. I'm playing Yakuza 6 anyway. Quality problems these are
Eager to read reviews to see if I should wait ot not, as I am almost certain I will get it.
@adf86 BOY that would be a ridiculous huge spoiler xD
