Deep cut Sakura Wars is to make a comeback, as SEGA is working on a new entry in the series. For those who don’t know, this string of tactical role-playing titles with dating sim elements started life on the SEGA Saturn, and was last seen in 2005 on the PlayStation 2.
There’s no word on which systems this new version will be available for, or if it will even release outside of its native Japan. Only one game in the series has been localised so far, and that was Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love, which launched on the PS2 and Wii.

Dating sim elements?
I imported the Saturn and Dreamcast Sakura Wars games and got through them with the help of guides. I hope the PS4 release (assuming it has one) actually gets localized.
I've always wanted to play this.
Thank you SEGA.

I remember good thing said for this series on sega saturn, its a turn-based strategy games if I remember correctly
Cool. Looking forward to trying this series out for the first time.
Yes! I hope the Valkyria Chronicles guys are behind it since many of them were developed by Overworks.
Sega really need to start developing new games for its past library, maybe remaster some old classics while there at it as well. Why they never did a sequel to Skies of Arcadia I will never know they have such great franchises like a new Streets of Rage and Golden Axe would be cool. I'm fed up of Sonic even though Mania was good and All Stars Racing Transformed but they've been my last 2 favourite Sonic games in Adventure 1 on Dreamcast before that it was Sonic 3 plugged in Sonic and Knuckles
is this their big announcement??
@TomKongPhooey well, Shenmue 1 and 2 was probably the main one.
I still have this for Wii
They should make a translated collection.
@Nakatomi_Uk Yes! Bring back Skies of Arcadia!
The translation for Sakura Taisen on the Saturn is still ongoing so I'm hoping this one gets an English release although the chances are close to 0.
This looks like the sort of thing that I wind up playing without really knowing why.
