You'd be forgiven for not noticing the quiet announcement of Slime Rancher bouncing its way onto PS4 later this year, what with all the focus on a certain red and blue superhero and a little purple dragon. However, this cheery indie first person farming sim will be hitting Sony's console in September 2018.
If you're not familiar with Slime Rancher, it's enjoyed a fair amount of success on PC, and is well liked across its current platforms. You spend the game gathering various types of slime, an alien species of happy, bouncy blobs. Capturing them using a vacuum gun, your aim is to keep and tend the slimes in order to make your fortune. As far as we understand, it's all pretty open ended, with the ability to build up your ranch in whatever way you like. You can even create new breeds of slime by, well, breeding them.
Have a watch of the above trailer, anyway, and let us know what you think. Are you happy to see Slime Rancher heading to PS4? Hop down to the comments below.

I heard great things about this game, but my PC sucks so I could never run it. I’ll definitely check this out!
My son quite enjoyed this when it was offered free on games with gold on Xbox. Not a game I wanted but its still better that PS owners get the choice to play it now if they want.
Now this is more like it - I loves me some goo.
I have it on PC but I did wish to collect some trophies! Maybe they can give it later for ps plus
I like the environments. I'll probably give it a go when it's released.
FPS for the kiddies, then?
@Turismo4GT Sony needs some more kid friendly games so why not? Colorfull does not mean Kids only play it look at Fortnite. 😁 😋
