Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 217

Having got the platinum for GoW, I am currently playing games in my backlog.

Getting towards the end of the GTA 4 DLC episodes. Since it's recently been updated to add in a few new songs and remove a lot of the old ones, I was going to play a bit of it with the update then see if there's a way to reverse it.

Also might play some Monster Hunter World. I had a quick try of the siege last weekend, but I want to do more of it. And maybe some Hatsune Miku Future Tone if I get round to it.

Still Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

Still at it with Persona 5, throwing in Street Fighter V, and King of Fighters 14 for PS4 as well. I’ll eventually get to Yakuza 6 and Horizon Zero Dawn 1 of these days.

@get2sammyb Thanks - it took me around 5 days - and that was 5 'long' sessions.

Might throw in some Mario Kart 8 and some Neo Geo games on Switch.

Ni no kuni 2 side quest marathon

Playing god of war, I've been playing it for about 40 hour. There's so much to do in this game, hunting rare enemies, searching for treasure, crafting/leveling-up my armor/weapon, and just exploring the realms, I don't think I'm making progress on the game's story lol.

God of War. Could potentially be GOTY.

@get2sammyb i also got platinum trophy in GOW too. Final Valkryies is kinda hard for me to kill

I'm going for some classic survival horror with the Resident Evil remaster, I've just finished my first play through and now aiming for a run under 3 hours and it's going well so far. Then probably on to Resident Evil 0 after that

It's all about the strategic combat for me. I'm dipping between sessions of Ghost Recon: Wildlands, Pillars Of Eternity and Valkyria Chronicles.

that so disappointing for me because i have nothing to play now since i played GOW for almost 50 hours and got platinum trophy tho.

Tonight Im playing some pro evo with an obscure Argentinian team for the trophy.

Then its onto God of War! Come on! Grrrr.

Definitely more God of War, maybe some Ni no Kuni 2, and of course, avengers!

All these God Of War comments are getting really boring.
As for what I'll be playing..Okami HD,Resident Evil VII DLC and..God Of War..

Wasn't going to get it yet, but after everything I've read and seen I just couldn't stand it anymore. God of war, it's an amazing game, and looks great in 4k. I've been pleasantly surprised by how challenging the combat is. I was worried it may be too easy.

@LaNooch1978 yes i did.. defeat 9 valkries were pretty hard especially Final Valkyrie

Not a lot has changed since last weekend for me, so more God of War, Far Cry 5, Tesla vs lovecraft and some FIFA. Will also give the demo for Detroit: Become Human a go.

Far Cry 5 and Gta 5 for some racing. Maybe some Mad Max that i recently downloaded.

Mixture of God of War, Elder Scrolls Online (which is great!) and the old reliable Smite. May dip into Bloodborne for the plat run with me old buddy @Kyroki 🙂

@Wazeddie22 why though it’s a new game that’s beyond amazing and is being called possibly one of the best games ever made of course people are playing it.

Ni no kuni 2 and hopefully I can platinum by later today all I need is 1 trophy and then I’m going into the world Kratos can’t wait

I’m planning on finishing Persona 5 soon. I’m also playing some Assassin’s Creed 2 and maybe some of Dead Rising 1 for the humble bundle I just got.

Sword of Ditto - still haven‘t won...

Aside from the super dungeon and a final skirmish that absolutely refuses to spawn, I've finished Ni No Kuni 2. It was a nice, enjoyable and thoroughly charming game - a solid 8/10.

Following my post in the new backlog thread, I've now started Tales of Zestiria. I'm not very far in, but man are the environments fugly. They've opened them up so they're a lot bigger than in previous games, but maybe it's come at a cost? I love Tales games. They're simple, fun Japanese RPGs and I always enjoy the battle systems. I'm not really feeling the battle system in Zestiria at the moment though. It's slow and has a troublesome camera. Fundamentally it seems based on Graces incredible battle system so I'll see how it goes as the game progresses.

Got nex week off work. Kids in school wife in work. So the world is my oyster as it were. Not got and plans as such, but I have a load of games I’ve not started begging to be played. Was hoping to get some inspiration from these comments but it looks like everyone is playing god of war and although I will get it I’m not sure when yet.

God of War and Detroit demo. God of War is shaping to be GOAT.

Heading towards 150 plus hours in pillars of eternity, maybe 3/4 done, some Destiny, not sure what else.

Having been reassured about the state of my Vita’s battery (a little more than six hours on DanganRonpa V3), I’m using it again to beat the game. It’s becoming more and more darker as I’m starting the fifth chapter. I tried God Wars cause I love tacticals. The game is really cute but it’s so slow! Why is it so slow???
I never played the Yakuza series but I took the sixth episode on a whim, mostly due to the review on this very site and... god I LOVE IT!!! How come I didn’t play Yakuza before? I love the graphics, the soundtrack, the acting, I’m already at chapter 10 and I don’t want it to stop at all!!! God of War is on my shelves, but it’s gonna have to wait, Kiryu’s first!

Going for the platinum in God of War. I'm so close I can taste it, and it tastes like snozberries.

Zelda botw, totally lost at the minute but that feels ok. Away out for a pint but can't stop thinking about the annoying shrine I'm stuck on.

I want every lore/art book that comes out for God of War, it is a phenomenal game but absolutely needs Kratos' past to hit all the high notes.

Between hiding my God of War envy and my Spiderman and Tomb Raider hype, I’ll probably try for some more progress in Persona 5 and Bloodborne. I might mix in some Vita somewhere.

@kyleforrester87 @get2sammyb Hey, everyone loved Destiny 2 at launch — it's a really good loot and shooter until you push into the endgame. Not my fault Bungie dropped the ball so hard that it knocked the Earth off its axis.

@Quahira me too but its my weekday game, i think im level 6 sword now but i had to cheat and look up what those tokens do, havent used them yet but from what i read what they do is pretty powerful

Ok so...Swords of Ditto!
Had this adventure going, second character, both anchors destroyed, the only thing missing was trying to defeat the boss! The game suddenly turns into a slideshow I thought: well, this is unbearable, let me reload! Go into the game...Sava data is corrupted! Lol f***!!!!!! Don't feel like playing more...

God of War, don't think i 'll be playing anything else in the next few months.

Im working on my backlog. I have just completed ICO on PS3 for the first time, loved it. I have started uncharted 4 now.

Euro Fishing. I've played the core game a fair bit but decided to get the DLC content as well, from the current sale. So I've been exploring the new locations this weekend. I don't actually fish in real-life, but I do enjoy immersive chill-out games like this. That said, the game can definitely be challenging.

@RegularGameFan Jaws is something special. It's one of those films I don't get tired of watching, like Alien and Predator. I've seen it three times already since it appeared on Netflix. I really should buy it on DVD, but it's quite expensive.

I feel ungrateful for saying this, but I've put God of War, an amazing game, on hold as I've been playing the hell out of Persona 5. After an extremely long intro, the game's finally opening up and getting more varied and complex.

EDIT: I also just caved in and bought Yakuza Kiwami in the sale.

God of War .... not stopping until I defeat the dreaded Sigrun!!! That Valk is one mean mofo!! Have completed and found everything up to
the Mother's Ashes quest .... I'm assuming thats the last bit, so want to defeat the Valk Queen b4 I complete the game!!

Ni No Kuni II and God of War being the only games I'm really interested in at the Moment... "regrettably" I platinumed both, so there's not much left to do. Except for smithing a few more Armours and Weapons with Evan and finishing the Against the Wall Labour with Kratos. Don't quite feel like backlogging either... Maybe I'm checking in on Gerald, just to see how the Pro/HDR update fares...

For me it's a combination of Lego Marvel 2 due to avengers putting me in the mood and of course the adventure of Kratos and boy.
