Koei Tecmo’s likeable Souls-esque samurai slasher Nioh has now cut through two million units worldwide across the PlayStation 4 and PC, the publisher has announced. The game was originally published by Sony, raising its profile significantly around the globe.
Created by Team Ninja, the title was originally announced in 2005 as a PlayStation 3 exclusive, before disappearing for a decade. It turned out okay in the end, though, as we described the final release as an “impressive return to form” for its famous developer.

I thought that in some ways it was better than Dark Souls! That's how good I thought it was...
P.S. didn't finish it because I'm a compulsive buyer and at the time I only had 500gb of storage! Maybe now with 4tb I will reinstall and finish it!
God of War sold more than this game
God of War : 5 millions copies sold
Nioh : 2 millions copies sold
I'm planning on playing through Bloodbourne before getting this.
Glad to see it sold so well.
@porhawj2016 So?
@porhawj2016 yeah but nioh outsold some of sony's1st party games, we should be happy japanese games specially single player games are selling well.
I want to get to this one day ..
I’ve heard a lot of good things about this game. That’s good news for it. I’m surprised it was allowed to end up on PC since Sony published it. Anyone know anything about that?
Well deserved having an amazing gameplay in my opinion better than Dark Souls and Bloodbourne
nioh is the shiznit 💞.now give me ninja gaiden 4.word up son
Me and my friend have been playing it though bosses tend to be very easy if u have a friend
I cannot convey how much I adore this game! One of my top 10 "desert island" games for sure! God, I hope they make a sequel.
I still don't know how this game ended on PC, how Sony could allow that? The game is great, but it should have been exclusive on PS4.
@porhawj2016 what?
Love nioh, I finished main story, dlc is brutal though. Will go back to it eventually, very good game. I put it up there with DS3 and BB, mainly because it similar but does its own thing.
@LaNooch1978 I'm trying to get plat in gow also, great game, alot easier platinum than nioh, lol
I can’t state enough how incredible this game is. Still one of my favourite games on PS4.
Anyone that hasn’t picked this up yet, make sure to get the Complete edition. The expansions/Story DLC are fantastic & add hundreds of hours of playtime.
Best endgame ever. If you get caught up in the loop, you’ll never stop playing.
Amazing game, got the plat a few weeks ago and killing 2 bosses at the same time was hard as hell ! I thought it was better than Dark Souls 3, and almost as good as Bloodborne.
@porhawj2016 God of War : 5 millions copies sold
GTA V : 1549646341684 millions copies sold
You don't see the point ? Me neither.
This is one of my favourite games of this console generation so far. I prefer the faster combat in this to the Souls games.
I don't plat many games purely out of time constraints but I done this! 10/10 game for me!
This is one of my favorite games. I have yet to go into the DLC, but I'm planning on it very soon. I did get the platinum for the base game though!
@porhawj2016 my man... you're stating the obvious 😂
No one? Alright, I'll do it!
SWORD UP SON!
I really like combat in this game, but level design wasn't so good and they were too generous with loot to the point where you feel the same regardless if you get a normal or a legendary item. BTW I gave up on it by the umi bozu boss as I didn't fancy farming those items to beat it. I think I'll get back to this game some time in the future.
It's certainly the best souls clone, great combat but it lacks the atmosphere and level design to bring it above it
Is one of my next pick ups for sure. I was waiting on reviews for the remaster of dark souls. Now knowing those I'm leaning Nioh
@Elodin you will not be disappointed! It’s a fantastic game with super slick combat. It’s still rage inducing like the souls series though 😂
My mate assures me he'll lend me this when he's done. Sadly he's a completionist...
@LaNooch1978 ahh thank you will do.
@THEH4MM the setting looks great, and the crazy amount of fine tuning on the stats on all the weapons looks great as well.
