SUPERHOT and its PlayStation VR counterpart were among this author’s favourite games of 2017, so it’s exciting to learn that a spiritual successor is on the way. In truth, this is an unexpected announcement: tentatively titled SUPERHOT JP, it promises to be a Japanese-themed iteration of the puzzle-shooter, developed by the Tokyo-based GameTomo as opposed to the original SUPERHOT Team.
The title will whisk you away to settings such as samurai castles, karaoke bars, and a bullet train. You’ll even be able to dodge bullets while “soaking in a hot spring”. There’ll be a bunch of new weapons (including a bow and arrow), and there’ll also be more endless levels to enjoy. Unfortunately, it won’t be playable in virtual reality – but we’re down for more SUPERHOT all the same.

SUPER. HOT.
Excited for this! I loved Superhot. It was the most innovative shooter I had played in years.
SUPER. HOT.
Hopefully the game will get a VR release in the future. The original Super Hot was so much fun in VR.
Awesome - hope it comes out in the west.
