Ghost of Tsushima got a lengthy gameplay demo during Sony's E3 2018 press conference. It's got gorgeous environments and some brutal combat. Clearly, developer Sucker Punch has been watching old samurai movies.
The title didn't get a release date or anything, in case you're wondering, so just be sure to soak yourself in the gameplay that we've embedded above.

Yay for realism over fantasy/magic.
Blown.Away.
Looks absolutely stunning, brutal and the gameplay looks solid. Them beautiful leafs... If ever a game needs a photo mode. 😀
Beautiful! All I have to say
Looked really good.
The biggest surprise for me. Was not expecting to be blown away to this extent by the game. It looks absolutely brilliant. Very cinematic.
That fight under the maple tree during sunset was absolutely gorgeous!
This was beautiful. Combat looks a little stiff, but the visuals and music were breathtaking. The part with the falling leaves was awesome. Day one for me.
Holy crap that looks absolutely mind blowing! This right here is why Sony is so revered for their exclusives no other company not even Nintendo can touch them when it comes to these cinematic, beautiful action packed games with killer stories.
Highlight of the conference for me.
That grass/flower field is beautiful, I hope you can upgrade your move and weapon like in god of war in this game
Also, I want more finishing move. It's not a samurai game without dismemberment lol
Ghost of Tsushima looks beautiful, the visuals and gameplay are outstanding. We can always trust Sucker Punch.
Slick. The combat reminds me of something else, but I can't put my finger on it right now.
Firmly on my list. Can't wait!
This was the game I was most excited to see more of and I was not disappointed. The worst part of E3 is getting hyped for games you know you can't play for awhile.
Someone has had the akira kurosawa collection out!...definitely game of e3 for me, absolutely stunning.(just thinking how cool it would look in black and white)
XBox being more powerful and still not getting this much of beauty just tells you how talented Sony’s developers are.
This looks amazing!!!
Is that a ps5 game? Looks stunning. Another stonker.
The game is so beautiful that I wish they opted for a Teen rating and got rid of the blood and gore, which is disgusting LMAO.
I’m getting some The Order 1886 vibes, TBH...astonishingly pretty game but the gameplay looks like it could be too simplistic.
I was surely intrigued with the feel and look of the last year's trailer but you never really know how the game will feel until you see some gamplay. This looks amazing and I love that they took the more realisitc/grounded route instead of being needlesy flashy. It also seems like the combat will be more tactical and not super fast which is another plus to me.
This is one of those games in which I'd choose to play without the english VA and use subtitles for a better experience. Like the Yakuza games.
@ApostateMage I was thinking the same, hope they'll have Japanese voice acting for this.
Looks amazing!
Game of the show.wow.looks incredible.word up son
In!
The game I was most excited for and after seeing that mindblowingly beautiful trailer 'excited' is an understatement!Can.Not.Wait.
Great music. Amazing care for details, like the leaves opening up paths where they were during the last battle. Brilliant!
@RogerRoger Not sure if you've played it but I thought For Honor's combat system was great and a lot of fun. Probably the best fighting game I've played in a while.
@RogerRoger No problem. I have to warn you that it's predominantly a PvP game. So if you're into that than you might want to avoid it. There are also PvE modes but there the fights against AIs are easier and less of a challenge. PvE mode is however great if you want to chill and grind for loot.
Sucker punch did their homework pretty well to deliver a realistic samurai game. it looks awesome... day one for me 🤣
They obviously watched the old samurai movies. These movies used a lot of shadow fights.
