Cat collecting series Neko Atsume launched on PlayStation VR in Japan this week, and it’s so cute that it’s gone viral. One clip, captured using the PlayStation 4’s built-in Share button, has amassed almost 100,000 likes at the time of typing; the eleven second tweet shows a stick being waggled in a confuddled feline’s face.

To be fair, the title does look ludicrously charming. There’s no word on a Western release right now, but you can purchase it from the Japanese PlayStation Store for ¥1,944 (~$18).

@Neolit
I have to my wife to that list of don’t share with
I can really see vr being used to combat lonlieness in the future. Hopefully Sony make a few more versions of psvr to make it accessible to the elderley and infirm.
@themcnoisy I dunno. Being sat in the dark, on my own, waggling my stick back and forth reminds me of all those lonely teenage nights.
@Rudy_Manchego yep totally with you. Daley Thomosons decathlon on the 8 bit home computers was a nightmare. Went through loads of joysticks.
I created a JP account last night just for this. It's adorable, though my favorite part was my cat in real life trying to play with my controller when I was waving it around for the feather stick in-game.
VR's killer app.
@gingerfrog I was thinking the opposite. This might be the game that convinces my girlfriend to agree to a VR headset.
I seriously might need to get this. Any method to have an even exchange of USD to YEN PSN credit? I expect to have a little left over on the account, but ¥2,000 Yen sounds fine.
Just don't wanna pay like $30 for it, when it's near $20.
Might wait till e3 ends, just in the small chance we get this gem too.
@Splints
Great lateral thinking.
@solcross does it have english subtitles?
@KAPADO It doesn't, but if you've played the mobile game then it's pretty much the same. The menus are pretty simple and there's not a lot of dialogue, so I got the hang of it after a little trial and error.
