Temtem, a role-playing title from Spanish developer Crema Games, is heading to PlayStation 4. The studio turned to Kickstarter around a month ago in order to help fund the game's development, and it wasn't long before its goal was smashed.
If you've watched the trailer that we've embedded above, you'll already know that it looks a lot like Pokémon. The twist here, though, is that Temtem is an MMO -- and it's always online. Those of you who have been praying for a Pokémon MMO over the last decade or so could soon have your dream come true. Well, kind of.
Temtem doesn't have a firm release date yet, but the team's aiming for a 2020 launch. It's a long way off, then, but do you think that there's some potential here? Catch 'em all in the comments section below.

My favourite part of this is how it's virtually just Pokemon only some words and phrases are swapped out.
"What's going on?! Magmis is evolving!"
"Olivia duels you!"
Don't fix what isn't broken, I suppose.
The cringe 😐
A game that pays homage to or takes inspiration from another game can be fantastic, just as long as it's unique in its own way. This on the other hand just looks like a generic ripoff of Pokémon. Unless it gets really good reviews, I'm going to stay well away from this one.
Plus, it being a MMO and always online is also putting me off. I'd much rather encounter charming NPCs instead of toxic players.
This is a complete Zelda rip-off. Sega is going to sue.
"kickstarter" + "2020" = queue Steve Miller
is this even going to survive the inevitable lawsuit?
i mean if it was a non profit game then sure go for it,but having people fund this and the fact that there will some profit (either a purchase price or microtransactions) is just asking for the nintento people to investigate. it just IS pokemon but with different skins.
This is literally Pokemon. It looks good, but it's Pokemon lol. I wish them luck! If it survives the copyright strikes, I'll play it.
Lmao can't wait to try it haha. Nintendo will look to sue though, I can already feel it.
Oh gawd... lawyers incoming
I don’t want it to happen, there’s enough money in Nintendo to make a Pokemon game this good... so why haven’t they?
Competition sorely needed for fans of the franchise i’d say... not really so into it myself but i see the appeal.

They see no reason to. Pokemon fans buy pokemon games despite the small number of significant changes since Pokemon Red/Blue.
@naruball i know this. i followed that with a statement about much needed competition.
Should have made the retorical nature of my question crystal clear.
Cant be sewed as everything is just different enough. Have you seen all the phone game rip offs? There's also so many zelda indie rip offs, even on nintendo consoles. As long as they dont use any pokemon 1:1 they will be all set
Nintendo can't sue because this game looks like Pokémon. Although Pokémon looks a lot better. Still, I’ll try this out because I really want a new MMO to get into after completing TERA and Neverwinter.
Looks a bit like Pokemon meets Digimon and to be honest, I think it looks good. The art style is really pleasing to the eye, and I'll be keen to see how they manage any kind of "story" is it's solely online.
@AhmadSumadi
<cough> World of Warcraft <cough>
@Fandabidozi I only have a PS4. And though I know PC has the best MMOs I don’t play on PC because mouse & keyboard gives me the worst pains from Carpal Tunnel.
@AhmadSumadi You don't need to use a mouse/keyboard, PS4/XB1 controllers work perfectly on PCs.
@ToddlerNaruto but imagine using a controller for WOW. It just doesn’t work. The mapping is all messed up because there’re not enough buttons.
@AhmadSumadi I wasn't referring to MMOs, of course they wouldn't work lol.
@ToddlerNaruto MMOs are my biggest interest as it pertains to PC gaming. PS4 still has all my favorite single player romps.
@AhmadSumadi Glad to hear it .
