The time has come for Ubisoft's open beta test for The Crew 2. Announced during its E3 2018 press conference, the beta starts today on PS4, and you'll be able to muck about in cars, boats, and planes until Monday 25th June.
You've been able to download it ahead of time, but if you've yet to install it, the file size weighs in at about 27GB, so make sure you have enough space if you want to take part. The beta offers up the entire open world map for you to explore, and eight motorsport disciplines to master.
Will you be taking The Crew 2 open beta out for a spin? Get into gear in the comments below.

... I was in the closed beta, and the rubber-banding was simply horrid... looks nice though! The boats are particularly fun, but still, the beta made me buy OnRush instead! (and that's just INSANE fun!)
I played the closed beta and it really seems like a much better game than the first one in practically every conceivable way possible.
does anyone know if the customization is better then the first? do you have more options and freedom like in forza?
Very similar to Forza in freedom, events and customization. Even has a livery,/skin editor. I was in the closed beta and agree it was more fun than the original. More arcadey feel, less frustration on cornering, etc.
Downloading it now!!!
@Kidfried I felt the exact opposite as far as Onrush. Really enjoying the crew 2 so far and it's a definite improvement over the first. Got bored with Onrush very very quickly when trying the beta. Didn't find the main shtick fun at all. Glad we have so many choices nowadays though!
I wish it was an offline game. I'm still hoping for a good Test Drive Unlimited alternative to play one day, of which there is none yet. The Forza Horizon concept looked promising but the storyline and constant narrative got in the way of the fun. Just give me a big open world with lots of vehicles and proper racing, but no storyline, and let me be.
Never usually one for racing games but I'll give this beta a shot!
The car models are nice but I think the racing and handling of all these vehicles is done better in GTA Online.
