Assassin’s Creed Origins transformed Ubisoft’s famous franchise into a Witcher-esque role-playing game, and it seems leaked sequel Odyssey will go one step further, adding dialogue trees to the series for the first time. News comes courtesy of Kotaku, who spoke to several people familiar with the project.
As expected, the title will be set in Ancient Greece, although exactly how the timeline will work seems a bit foggy. Historically, the Ancient Greece era occurred prior to Cleopatra and co, but Origins was all about the formation of the Creed, so it seems unlikely the brand would revert back to a period before that. Either way, it sounds like protagonists Bayek and Aya are out – at least in a playable sense, anyway.
With its E3 2018 press conference barely a week away, the French publisher’s understandably keeping schtum for the time being – but with the merchandise that led to this leak hitting stores around the world right now, we wouldn’t be surprised if some kind of teaser trailer dropped over the next 24 hours or so.

Don't get me wrong, Origins was awesome!!! But I wanted them to go to Japan or something...greece feels too similar
I gave up on AC since Black Flag but the changes in Origins convinced me to go back. Still waiting for a Complete Edition though, like I did with Horizon.
If you create a character I hope they are voiced. I hate playing as a voiceless character.
Starting to miss the mystery of not knowing a game's details until it's officially announced, kind of my own fault for being on the internet though. Really wish people would keep their mouths shut/noses out of things every once in awhile and let things unravel naturally
@Cornaboyzzz there won’t be one the gold edition they release are their complete editions now
@Splat exactly that was the thing that bothered me the most about far cry 5 so they better not pull that crap with this game which is my favorite Ubisoft franchise.
Origins was good game to me but Final Boss suck : 8/10.. i thought Ubisoft want take two years to work on AC game. What about Watch Dogs 3 ? i hope new game for Splinter Cell coming out this year in November if Ubisoft want stay away from RDR 2
@dark_knightmare2 Wow 100€ I should've known with Ubisoft... I just paid Horizon Complete Edition something like 35€ (49,99 CAD). Thanks anyway !
If Aya's out that's disappointing. There's still some story directions to go with her and she's a great character. Would've been cool to see her in the lead.
Nice, I love me some speech trees. Even if it's superficial dialogue, I feel it adds a personal touch to a played character.
@Cornaboyzzz The Gold Edition that is available right now, was there from the beginning. I'm pretty sure there will be another "complete" edition with a lower price. EA did that with Battlefield 1 calling it Battlefield 1 Revoluton, selling it for 50€ instead of 110€.
I wouldn't be upset if Bayek was out. I didn't think he was the 'best' character but the game-play was great. I couldn't care less where they take the series as far as settings go, as long as it doesn't move beyond the 1600's. The time setting is more likely to affect my purchasing decision over the location setting.
@SMKpaladin Yeah that makes sense, usually they do that one year after the release date or so. Wait and see I guess ! Thanks
