Good format, good games. Enjoyed it.
Liked the format but can't say that I hyped with any of the announcements so far.
This is probably being nit-picky, but apart from yesterday's late start, it was well executed. On a kinda related note, I just remembered that last year, Shawn Layden told Greg Miller that by E3, he wouldn't have to be asking when PS users could change their names on PSN. Place your bets, ladies and gents...
Nothing for me outside of Days Gone. That said I kinda figured that going into this.
Solid announcements. The standouts for me are Tetris Effect and Beat Saber - would love to play both of those!
Ghost Giant made me think about getting a PSVR, Tetris Effect looks damn cool too.
Considering Sony were not doing their pre-E3 show this year and opted to do an announcement a day in a countdown, I had hoped (and expected) 'more' from these.
The only thing that really interested me was Days Gone and didn't expect a release date this early. Dontnod's Twin Mirror could be ok - I like the vibe it was going for but its too early to tell if it will have the game-play to go with it.
In truth though, I would have preferred Sony to stick to its usual 'pre-show' show and combined all of these into one rather than these 10min shorts. I also think we got more news too before the 'main' show.
I really like this new format, way way better than previous year when they shoved cool games like spelunky 2 and guacamelee 2 on post-show that nearly nobody see.
Future cool indie games should be announced with this e3 count down.
Next year, I want a nice 10-15 minutes interview with the developer after the announcement to tell us more info about the games
Nothing for me, but that's alright. Between my backlog and all the games I want to play but have yet to buy, all of the companies could take an entire year off from releasing games and I'd be perfectly OK.
@Ralizah Haha ain’t that the truth. It’d put me out of a job, but I kinda wished they would take a year off! 😅
List is pretty solid. Definitely excited for Tetris Effect and Days Gone.
@get2sammyb Are you going to be covering the Microsoft conference later today?
@Ralizah I'm preparing for the inevitable future where all that exists is an EA subscription, then I will start on my backlog and I can live the rest of my life playing new games every day
@Turismo4GT I think he said by the next PSX didn't he?
Solid games, further proof that PSVR is going strong and has backing, and now the big 4 to come. I’m happy. OK if had to pick holes I’m not overly bothered about Tetris and as awesome as Days Gone looks it’s a long way off but these extra announcements were a bonus anyway so looking good for me
@adf86 Ah yes you're right. Thanks.
Didn't like the format. I don't like having to set aside 5 minutes each day for 4 days. I only saw 1 of the 4 live. I've been watching Nintendo do this with Directs for 5 or more years now and I always hate getting my hopes up for 5 minutes of nothing. I've enjoyed 90% of them, only 1 or 2 were really bad. As someone else said, all of these could have been in 1 pre-show, or each live show be 30 minutes long, show more of the game and talk more with the devs. Otherwise just drop these trailers randomly throughout the week, announce them on twitter, put them on Youtube. No hype. Just say "Follow us on Twitter throughout the week for trailers of new games." Done. Live chat for Days Gone release date is utterly pointless.
Beat saber and the announcement of days gone release date was good enough for me. The other one are meh for me
While I quite like the idea of giving each game announcement it's own day, I'm not sure it really works in practice.
The bits in the booth with Sid Shuman and the other 2 just seem awkward. Also with only having one reveal a day, it seems to have disappointed (rightly or wrongly) a fair portion of viewers if that game doesn't appeal to them.
I quite liked all the announcments personally, although think the Days Gone release date was perhaps unnecessary.
In short, I don't really know how I feel about it but I imagine they'll be changing up this format again next year tbh.
Pretty cool announcements, imo. Days Gone and Twin Mirror are day one for me, I would buy the three VR games if I had a PSVR as well.
Even if it's a possibility that will not have new announcements, I'm really hyped for the Sony conference, can't wait for the upcoming exclusives.
Word up son.
Twin Mirror day one, Days Gone cant wait.
And for the people who own VR would could not like the Zoink game Ghost Giant i wish i could get a VR some day. 😁
