You've been able to play H1Z1 for a little while now on PS4. It's been in open beta since May, but this free-to-play battle royale game is finally being promoted to a full release. It'll leave beta and launch for real on 7th August 2018.
The developer is bringing a few extras to the game to celebrate the release, including two new weapons, a new vehicle, and trophies. You'll also be able to utilise three different Battle Passes -- free, premium, or PS Plus -- to earn yourself some cosmetic rewards. Check out the PlayStation Blog for more details.
H1Z1 has been rather popular on PS4, as it's a more realistic battle royale experience that hits closer to PUBG than Fortnite. Have you been enjoying the open beta? Are you excited to check it out once it fully launches next month? Shoot down to the comments and let us know.

Not gonna lie, I do like the idea of a PS Plus option to the battle pass because lord knows I won't be wasting a dime on BR games with their over priced cosmetics (Looking at you Fortnite).
Completely forgot about this tbh. May check it out when it's out in "full" although outside of the odd PUBG game here and there this genre does little for me.
Tried it twice, think I came 79th first go and 7th second. Just seemed a bit unresponsive and the ending was just have a car stay in it then hide behind while you try to kill the last few doing the same. I actually believe that the new cod version will at least play well, so that’s the next one I’ll try
This games awesome if only it had proximity chat
Are they planning to make the matches longer? The zone shrinks too quickly
Will our progress roll over??
Sub to my YouTube for great H1z1 content! Thanks
@gingerfrog They updated it to where the cars run out of gas faster to cut down on the auto-royale at the end. Last time I won there weren't any cars.
@DeathB4Dsloyal According to the FAQ everything carries over.
Look PUBG it doesnt have to take 1000 years to do something.
@gingerfrog That one is €60 or €99 for a Complete Edition. 😜
@Flaming_Kaiser
You’re right and I fully get that. But gaming for me is time limited but funds are good. I guess this comes with age I’m going to hit 42 this year but with work, wife and teenage daughters I’m happy to spend money to enjoy my hobby. I do respect this isn’t the same for everyone though.
Looking forward to playing this some more. Nothing against Fortnite but I enjoy H1Z1 a lot more.
Yep can't wait for the update it's sad to see them nerfing the hellfire but it does make se sense that thing was a beast even in late game
