It feels like Brawlout has been heading to PS4 for an insanely long time. The party fighting game, which quite clearly follows the template laid down by Super Smash Bros., finally has a release date, and you'll be scrapping with your mates from 21st August 2018.
The game includes a couple of guest characters from other indie titles, such as the Drifter from Hyper Light Drifter, and Juan from Guacamelee. The above trailer also confirms that Yooka and Laylee from, er, Yooka-Laylee will be joining the fray.
Are you looking forward to Brawlout on PS4? Try not to fall off the stage in the comments below.

This game looks pretty promising, but Yooka and Laylee are bottom-tier guest characters.
I'm definitely open to a SSB knock-off on the PS4, but the roster just isn't doing it for me. Anthropomorphic animals are fine, but it seems like it's just a bunch of same-y walruses, monkeys, and birds (not exactly the animals I would've chosen for a brawler).
At least the guest characters add some needed variety. If anything, this makes me wanna finally pick-up Hyper Light Drifter!
As a big Smash fan, this game looks fun.
At least it has the usual "build up percent and hit your opponents off the stage" like Smash and not the whole "build meter and use a special attack to defeat your enemies" like PlayStation All-Stars.
That was my least favorite part of All-Stars.
@ShogunRok I thought Yooka Layle was great especially after the update.
@smelly_jr You should definitely play Hyper Light Drifter, it's a fantastic game!
It's on sale for Switch as of today at $11.99.
I'll probably double dip for this if it holds up. Since PSABR will likely never get another try, this looks like a decent Indie Smash-Style party fighting game.
I guess it gets a retail release. 😁 😃
Poor man's Spla....er Smash Bros.
Smash ripoff with mobile game-tier character designs. I'll just wait Smash Ultimate, thanks.
Might be a fun distraction till PS Allstars 2
