Onrush might not be the straightforward arcade racer many were expecting, but it still offers up a fun experience with its multiplayer and objective-based modes. For those who've yet to give the game a try but are curious as to how it plays, good news: you can sample it this weekend on PS4.
From tomorrow through to Sunday, you'll be able to give this unique racer a try. At the moment, it's unclear how much of the game will be unlocked to players, but at the very least we'd expect you'll be able to play all the modes in online multiplayer. It appears to only be taking place in Europe for now. If any other details emerge, we'll update the article and let you know.
Will you be rushing to try out Onrush this weekend? Boost down to the comments below and let us know.

😬 Guessing the sales have been awful.
@get2sammyb Sad, but most likely true.
This and the current 50% off in the PSN sale suggest that it really didn't sell well. Kinda glad I didn't buy it last month, like I was planning, because I hate playing a MP game with a lack of players.
@Gatatog Wait it's already half price?
@get2sammyb Yeah, in the Double Discounts sale. Half price for PS Plus members.
The over inflated digital price is half price but does make it cheaper then buying on disc. Is the game online focused? As seen a few videos of it and it looks interesting was waiting for it to come down in price. Other thing will be how long they support it as they gave up on micro machines very quickly.
@Quintumply Geez!
I was actually all set to buy this at launch but got stuck in to playing Doom, Raiden V and Jamestown+.
@bindiana There's a focus on multiplayer, yeah, but it does also feature a single player mode to play through.
@get2sammyb - when it only reached #34 in the UK chart - in summer, as a multiplatform release, with almost a whole week for sales. it's probably a safe bet that sales have been spectacularly low. considering about 2 weeks before this, around just 1,000 sales were enough to make the top 30. must be a bit of a stressful situation for evolution studios, unfortunately.
@Quintumply Cheers will try and give the free weekend a go to see if I like it and then pick it up at a later date.
Yeah, maybe on Sunday, but I'm probably going to be busy drinking myself to death in celebration/mourning [delete as appropriate] from Saturday afternoon onwards.
Not suprising. Save your hard drive and do not download it.
Just grabbed it in the recent discounts and really enjoying it. Tried the beta, and found it fun, but didn't think it was worth the full price imo. For 30 quid it's a banger though, i think they should keep it at that price point.
What i hear a lot is that the game is great but the price is a little to steep. Some games should be released at little less why dont they try €49/44,99 at release.
I'm not sure that the beta was a good idea, because people have been able to realize how awful this game is. I'm not surprised by the sales, now I wouldn't get it even for free.
I would give the single-player mode a chance, if available this weekend. I have no interest in multiplayer gaming.
Why did they not focus on single-player instead though?! At least then they would've had a more reliable group of gamers (=buyers).
The success of a multiplayer game is random at the onset and fickle once established. That's why most of them start out in Early Access, which gives them a gague of how popular the game will be once it's finished.
Can't you just make a EU PSN account to try it if you aren't in Europe anyway?
@get2sammyb I'd feel bad for them if they hadn't gone and made such a weird game when all everyone was asking for was a new Motorstorm
As soon as I heard that it was some sort of weird team-based driving game where you didn't actually race, my hype completely died. I'd been considering a purchase until then.
@MrJohnson71 Did you ignore the part where I said I was planning on getting it even last month? I played and loved the beta so I want to get the game but if it didn't sell and the playerbase isn't there to make it a reliable purchase, what's the point?
Missed the beta so gave the free trial a go today and bought the game within an hour for £27 in the sale. It's a breath of fresh air to play something a little different from the usual racer. Fun little game.
I tried the demo yesterday. I liked the driving physics and the environments, and the concept of non-racing is interesting. I tried the single-player mode.
The big problem is that the gameplay is not fun as a single-player game, so the single-player content feels wasted. The concept doesn't make much sense in this game mode.
I have zero interest in multiplayer gaming, so I won't try the multiplayer. However, I would imagine the gameplay and concept works better in this mode.
