Who’s melting? After a hellish heatwave, storms have supposedly rolled into the UK, bringing the temperatures down. Not here at Push Square Towers, however, where there are currently SEGA skies overhead and burning sunshine. Will it ever rain again? We’ll keep you updated.

Good question, I don't actually know what I'm going to play this weekend. I beat Madden NFL 18's Longshot mode in preparation for the sequel this week, and I enjoyed that. I really want to give Rise of the Tomb Raider another try, but I'm not sure it's the right time.

When I'm not busy being a puddle, I'll be trying my hand at The Division, which, even just a couple of hours in, seems like a much improved experience since I last tried it a couple of years back. The fact that the game's set during winter is driving me mad, though – never been so jealous of snow.

My usually borderline daily dip into Rainbow Six: Siege will no doubt continue. Might test the waters on the NHL 19 beta too. 18 is kinda a trainwreck, so hopefully, 19 gives me a reason to be excited. I won't hold my breath, though.

It's a rare weekend off work for me, and so all three of my consoles will be getting a look in over the next two days. On the Nintendo Switch it'll be Octopath Traveller, while on the Xbox One I'm passing the time with ReCore. When the sun goes down and the temperature drops to a more habitual heat however, I'll be jumping into The Persistence.

I kicked off last week by starting BioShock 2 and now that that’s completed I’ve wasted no time getting into BioShock Infinate. The two games feel completely different, each with their own flair and themes but so far the BioShock series is yet to let me down. Alongside that I’ve recently re-started Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. The graphics and story on this game never fail to amaze me.

So because of Push Square's best Loot Games article a few days ago I got the itch to return to Borderlands 2. So I will be breaking out my Siren for some loot goodness. I also will be continuing with Ori and the Blind Forest.
What will you be playing before you officially melt, then? Is there anything in particular you're hoping to play through? Let us know in the comments section below.

@LaNooch1978 I really liked that bit.
Hopefully I'll be finishing Wolfenstein TNO. I'll also mix it with some R6 Siege and Company of Heroes on pc.
Restarting The Banner Saga after getting the trilogy on disc. Won't get chance until Sunday though.
i'm not sure really, i might just relax and do nothing because this heat we have had has been terrible and for now it's actually nice a cool where i am (we even had a Thunderstorm last night)
so i guess it depends on my mood
Mega Man, Splatoon 2, more embargo stuff.
Fun fun fun.
Interview on Monday and a DBS check too
I’m enjoying the opportunity to peck away at the backlog before all those highly anticipated games start showing up the latter part of August.
So it’s more Horizon Zero Dawn and Yakuza 0 for me. If I play something else it might be something lighthearted like Rayman Legends or Rime, but I expect the two large epic games to keep me busy.
@KratosMD I’m excited to hear about your MGS4 impressions!
@RogerRoger Haha, no? It looks so... bright and cheery. 😅
I'm looking to finish off the brilliant Yakuza 0 this weekend. Mix in a daily dose of GTA Online and some space exploration with NMS and Elite Dangerous.
Is that image Out Run? Rather coincidentally, I completed the Out Run song Magical Sound Shower on Hatsune Miku Future Tone only a few days ago on hard, which was the last song I needed in order to beat every song on hard difficulty.
I would love to just curl up and play Nier: Automata all weekend. Unfortunately, I'm rather busy, so might just end up playing some Bravely Default or Hatsune Miku Project Diva Future Tone whenever I've got a free moment.
I'm STILL playing Ni No Kuni 2.
I think this is the third weekend I've said this game, haha.
Dragon crown on psvita, and mario kart 8 plus the mummy demastered on switch. It's a portable week for me
Edit: Just bought no man sky on psn, the updated game looks good on ps access livestream and the game is discounted on psn, will try it tonight
Fortnite, No Man’s Sky, and Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze!
@KratosMD enjoy MGS4.. it is brilliant.
Not much gaming for me this weekend as I'm trying to sort my life out, hopefully a bit of Octopath at least though..
Monster Hunter .
Downloaded Assassins Creed Origins and Resident Evil 7 in the sale last night not bad for £39, but playing through Trine 2 and Gravity Rush 2 at the moment!
Just InFamous SS for me.
Only got the beat the game with evil karma now to get the platinum as I did all the collectable stuff in my first playthrough.
Why is it so much fun being evil?
Playing WoW for the first time in over a month, before the expansion in just over 2 weeks. On the Playstation side of things I'm continuing replaying Shadow of War. Still a great game.
It's the end of my holiday so I'll be trying to get a good chunk of gaming time before I'm reduced to only about 3 Hours a day again.
I bought Robinson's Journey for PSVR in the sale so I'll be trying that along with Lego Marvel Superheroes 2 which I should 100 per cent very soon.
The rest of my gaming time will be taken over by the Switch again, playing the likes of the excellent Xenoblade Chronicles 2,Stardew Valley,Sonic Mania plus,Piczel Lines DX and Shining Resonance Refrain.
Tearaway Unfolded and finish Captain Toad on 3DS and maybe if I have time Sonic Mania
Haven't picked up a controller in over a week but today I started No Man's Sky and after a couple of hours, well I don't hate it and I am looking forward to seeing where it takes me.
Just finished everybody’s gone to the rapture. Not sure what I’ll start now???
@zeppray any good? I see it's super cheap in the summer sale?
I'll probably play some Battlefield 1. I might get Watch Dogs 2, so that too.
@wiiware thought your Switch would just be collecting dust
Going to try and finish up Rime. It's not a great game but man is it pretty.
Gonna hit up gundam battle operations 2 , it nust launched this week and barely been able to touch it
@Derpie1 I put it in the drawer, so it should be dust free
I bought only one retail game (dkc tf) this year though compared to many (zelda, mario kart, mario odyssey, splatoon 2) last year, so yeah, to me this year is not a great year for switch.
And I already sold dkc tf and splatoon 2 since I don't play it that much (want to sell zelda but unfortunately, I bought the digital version).
It's was waaaaay to HOT to play games Getting cooler now so I will start H:ZD this week(Yep, I'm soooo behind but have an AMAZING backlog of PS4 Exclusive games to get thru now)
@MightyDemon82 It was different if you like to explore it’s your kind of game. I enjoyed it.
Finished Birth by Sleep, except for a few super-hard bosses that I'll probably attempt in the future.
Was going to start Wolfenstein: The New Order but silly me forgot to download it in advance. Also bought the Assassin's Creed Origins DLC in the summer sale, so will start that too.
I’ll be trying my best to get into The Witcher, gotta be honest 3 hours in and not really feeling it.
@get2sammyb How hot has it been there just out of curiosity. We have been dealing with triple digits over here ourselves. Yesterday it got to 107 degrees. 🤪
Haven't been in a big gaming mood, but managed to play some Flower, Abzu, Tales of the Tiny Planet and Lumines Remastered. And what a treat Lumines is; positive, light, upbeat. Just what I needed. They are all great games though, when you are feeling a bit down.
I feel myself drifting away from big and lengthy games, they take too much time away from being with my family. I want shorter and quicker gaming sessions for the future.
On PS4 I'll be playing The Crew 2, Train Sim World, Ghost Recon Wildlands and Alienation. On my phone some more Balloons TD 6.
AC: Freedom Cry on PS4, which I'm enjoying quite a lot. I might even pick up Black Flag, can't get enough of the naval battles.
Persona 4 Golden on Vita. Stellar game so far and it keeps getting better.
This weekend: probably a little bit of Splatoon 2, but mainly Ys VIII. Near the end of the fifth chapter, I think, and have a little over 150 reputation. I might also play more of the Taiko no Tatsujin demo on Switch.
My one regret about not owning a PS3 is never having been able to play MGS4. I was hoping Konami would port it to PS4, but that doesn't seem to be in the cards.
Maybe I'll find a cheap PS3 one day.
I'm way deep into No Man's Sky at the moment. The new update is a lot of fun now that it doesn't crash every twenty minutes.
@Tasuki Not as hot as that but we don’t have aircon in this country really.
I'll be playing NMS with friends mostly but I HAVE to jump back into Ni No Kuni 2 soon.
I finally beat Persona 5, so I won’t be playing this for awhile. I’ll get in Yakuza 6, Fighting Layer EX, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection and Shantea 1/2 Genie Hero for PS4. Kirby and some Neo Geo games on Switch.
@KratosMD Well, I’ve played MGS4 twice and I don’t remember @kyleforrester87 ‘s avatar at all — at least the part where Snake is smiling. But maybe you’ll find it 😄 though methinks it was spawn from photoshop.
@Th3solution lol he is very much in it although yes the smile has been added
Infinite, not infinate.
Binding of isaac here.
I'll be playing some Splash Wave and Passing Breeze along with some Superhot VR.
I really want to try Bloodborne again this weekend. I've started looking into the lore of the game and watched a few gameplay vids to have more of an idea of what it's all about and how I'm gonna tackle it. If I can get past the Cleric Beast, I think I'll be hooked
Dream Drop Distance HD and Fifa 18.
Fractured But Whole, Wipeout Omega VR (amazing if you can handle. I havent had one VR experience make me sick that was a quality made game), and revisiting Hotline Miami because i have a new headset
All this talk of MGS4 has got me in the mood to play through it again. I remember those model ladies that try to kill you but if you evade them for so long they give up and let you take pics of them like a modelling shoot. Typical Koj.
Gonna try to jump back into NMS. If that don't work out, I'm going to play Borderlands 2, I've had it forever and have never played it.
Just bought UNMOTHERED, A wonderful little survival horror with a definite connection to oldschool survival horrors of the past such as silent hill and clock tower.
Other than that its been my newly purchased southpark fbw and the long dark which has been simply a delite!
And of course my "forever obsession" with anything streetfighter
Will be on Warframe to get the weekend event done for that sweet rift sigil reward and some Atomine now the devs have finally patched it so that trophies actually unlock. Probably squeeze in some Destiny 2 as well.
@wiiware hehe the less games you have on that thing the more I’ll question why you got it in the first place
Cus there is that Buyer’s remorse thing.
I'll be taking down crazy cultists in Far Cry 5.
@JJ-Firl P4 Golden was one of those RPGs where I was like ok just one more thing then I’ll turn the game off for a bit
a few hours later irl
Ok now I’ll take a break.
@Bonbonetti I can see you getting into Indie games then.
Blade Runner on my laptop and Star Wars Battlefront on my PS4
Tried playing Rick and Morty on psvr. Turns out, there is a game breaking bug that crushes the game so you're basically stuck in the first level thanks to a recent patch.
Sigh...
@3MonthBeef
"Castlevania on NES [mini] (I save-stated my way to victory and don't care)"
Did the same thing about 6 years ago. Loved it thanks to nostalgia and didn't want to experience the frustration I did as a child.
Finishing of the platinum on God of war then moving onto shadow of war, love me an open worlder 😃 And of course playing the daily challenges to get my plat on Rayman legends, wish i could stop but ive come too far ....😣
I've started playing P5 again. It's been quite a long journey. I started playing in early 2018, and have now eventually nearly got the penultimate party member. On the bright side, it's cool slowly moving through the game month by month as the characters move through the story month by month themselves; it makes it feel more real. And the in-game heatwave lined up perfectly with our one in the UK.
I also got into Berserk again the other day, so I bought the Band of the Hawk game.
Some R6 siege, been also on the invisible hours on psvr and the persistence psvr. Good times!
@Derpie1 It's because reviewers are hyping zelda botw as the best game ever. I think zelda botw is my least favorite zelda (with zelda oot as my favorite and zelda lttp my second, zelda ww is my third). There's no interesting story, or even a story, the cool trailer with great music is just some memory thing, battling enemy is a chore thanks to the brittle weapon system, the graphics are just okay compared to my fav zelda because it's on portable
Mario odyssey is okay but man, collecting moons is a chore compared to stars in mario 64, do we need, like, 100 moon on every stage? I like mario 64 simple 120 star, there's less to collect, but it's more memorable rather than just walk here and here's a moon for you. Mario kart 8 is dope though, playing it on portable is nice, it's like my first time playing ridge racer on psp, it's the future of portable gaming.
I want to sell my switch but I heard there's screen lottery going on with the new switch production, so I think I'll keep my switch until bayonetta 3 released. Or if nintendo released snes games on it, then I'll keep it forever
What racing game is in the photo at the top of this article?
@Hordak I think it's Outrun (1987), … I'm not 100% sure about the year but it's most definitely an Outrun game. Want something similar on the PS4 but "new"? have a look at Horizon Chase Turbo, it's really good.
I would've been playing, Bud Spencer & Terence Hill - Slaps and Beans if it came to Australia.
Assasin's Creed Black Flag you filthy landlubbers
Playing some more of Walking Dead Collection during the wait for Season 4 and will finally start Horizon.
@wiiware Screen Lottery?
@Derpie1 I heard some of new switch screen is not as good as the old switch, the one that released in the first year.
Here's the difference in picture (from reddit):
https://ibb.co/hnY7Tv
My switch screen compared to above picture:
https://ibb.co/jg7cJo
Odin's Sphere and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 with some Hyrule Warriors on the side.
@Derpie1 Same here, can’t put it down once you get started. “Just one more day”.
@LaNooch1978 My switch is usually silent, the fan rarely start. That's electronic for you, while most ps4 usually loud and most pro is silent, I got silent ps4 and loud ps4 pro
I jumped back into Uncharted 3 last night and also got some time in with Sonic Mania Plus, ironically after the PSN outage, which I had no idea about prior to playing. I'm hoping to get some playtime tonight with Far Cry 5 and The Last of Us after work today.
@wiiware ah.
I am curious do you regret getting a Switch?
@JJ-Firl kinda had that same feel w P5 (to an extent).
@Derpie1 Not really, I can sell it anytime I like. Maybe I don't like the new zelda and new mario is just okay, but there's no way as a gamer I miss these games, I have to try it myself.
@wiiware interesting idk I’d kinda think you’d say “eh I’m done w these franchises” or “Nintendo stuff isn’t for me anymore since there’s no... maturity to it” or something.
Nothing yet, but I plan to finally beat Life is Strange 1 today, and start Before the Storm immediately after.
@Derpie1 Everytime new nintendo hardware (with its games) arrives, I always think maybe this time nintendo will get me. It's not like I want mature mario, at least just give me more interesting story. I enjoyed previous zelda games story, but now nintendo seems doesn't like to make story anymore.
@wiiware you may come to either like or dislike Shigeru Miyamoto (since he got lots of strings at Nintendo.) Genuinely you might as well not bother anymore cus the day the Kyoto based company gives a dang about Story is the day you see a official M rating on a Mario game.
