Here it is, the big one. Well, one of the big ones. September is jam-packed with PlayStation 4 goodness, and it would have been even more insane had Spyro: Reignited Trilogy not been delayed into November. Still, this is where the real end-of-year rush begins. From here on out, it's a ridiculous few months for fans of Sony's system.
Destiny 2: Forsaken (Expansion)
Publisher: Activision
Developer: Bungie
Release date: 4th September, 2018
The supposed rebirth of Destiny 2 is almost here -- it's just a shame that we have to pay for it (again). Cynicism aside, if Forsaken can deliver on Bungie's promises of an all-round better game, then we're right back on track. Promising a lengthy endgame and an overhaul of various core systems and mechanics, everyone's hoping that this is the big turning point for Destiny 2. Bungie's pulled it off before, right?

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age (PS4 Console Exclusive)
Publisher: Square Enix
Developer: Square Enix
Release date: 4th September, 2018
Mainline Dragon Quest returns to a PlayStation home console after many, many years, and going by the impressions of those that have already played the game, the wait has been well worth it. A traditional Japanese RPG brought up to speed with a modern tweaks and countless quality of life improvements, this grand adventure should be enough to keep fans of the genre occupied for the rest of 2018.
Marvel's Spider-Man (PS4 Exclusive)
Publisher: Sony
Developer: Insomniac Games
Release date: 7th September, 2018
One of the year's most anticipated games is almost upon us. Insomniac's original take on the beloved superhero has our Spidey senses tingling with excitement, as it looks like it nails the character's many facets. The swinging and combat look like lots of fun, and the complex story has us intrigued to learn more. We know that open world Spider-Man games can work, and this PS4 exclusive could well be the best one yet.
NBA 2K19
Publisher: 2K Sports
Developer: Visual Concepts
Release date: 7th September, 2018 (NA), 11th September, 2018 (EU)
With LeBron now a Laker, it’s shaping up to be a fascinating season in the NBA, as the imperious Golden State Warriors seek a third consecutive title. Meanwhile, 2K Sports is celebrating its 20th year on the court, with NBA 2K19 promising to lob microtransactions at you like they’re three-pointers. With a story mode starring a slew of Hollywood names and a refined gameplay experience, expect a lot of hoopla around this title come launch.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider
Publisher: Square Enix
Developer: Eidos Montreal
Release date: 14th September, 2018
Are you ready for Lara's latest death-defying adventure? Shadow of the Tomb Raider takes the rebooted series in a darker direction and sees one of gaming's greatest heroines finally adopt the titular moniker. We're expecting another far flung, action packed romp as Lara aims to save the world once again. Whatever happens, it's bound to be better than that movie, right?
Transference
Publisher: Ubisoft
Developer: Ubisoft Montreal
Release date: 18th September, 2018
We’ve played the demo and we’re still not entirely sure we fully understand what Transference is, but the project’s being helmed by Frodo Baggins, so how bad can it be? This is being billed as a psychological thriller, and while PlayStation VR is optional, it’s pretty clear that it’s been designed specifically with virtual reality in mind.
CREED: Rise to Glory (PSVR)
Publisher: Servios
Developer: Servios
Release date: 25th September, 2018
Boxing is one of those sports that’s perfect for PlayStation VR, as the inherent head-tracking of the medium means that you can dodge and weave between haymakers, before using the PlayStation Move wands to unleash a flurry of your own. You may not be Anthony Joshua in the flesh, but in the virtual reality realm you’ve got Rocky Balboa in your corner – and CREED: Rise to Glory is going to let you crush some skulls.
Valkyria Chronicles 4
Publisher: SEGA
Developer: SEGA
Release date: 25th September, 2018
SEGA's done the decent thing and taken Valkyria Chronicles back to its roots, away from the misguided efforts of Valkyria Revolution. Tactically engaging and gorgeous to behold, Valkyria Chronicles 4 should be the series' home console return that we've been waiting for. A highlight will be getting to know your colourful squad of characters, each with their own likes, dislikes, and dreams. Just make sure that they're behind a nice, sturdy wall when you end your turn.
Life is Strange 2
Publisher: Square Enix
Developer: DONTNOD Entertainment
Release date: 27th September, 2018
It was always going to be difficult to leave behind Arcadia Bay, but there’s potential in Life Is Strange 2’s rascals on the run storyline. As brothers Sean and Daniel Diaz flee Seattle for the sanctuary of Mexico, you’ll be following their journey and shaping the siblings through your decisions. We’re expecting some heartbreaking twists along the way, but toppling Max and Chloe’s story is going to be tough.
FIFA 19
Publisher: EA
Developer: EA Sports
Release date: 28th September, 2018
We'll let you in on a little Push Square secret here. Every year, we wonder how the hell we're going to review the new FIFA. Is there going to be enough new stuff to actually warrant a full review? If it ain't broken, should EA be trying to fix it in the first place? These questions and more cross our minds year in, year out, but we always find ourselves thoroughly enjoying the world's most successful footie sim once we have the controller in our hands -- and we doubt that our experience with FIFA 19 will be much different.
September's jammed, then, but what game are you most looking forward to? Vote in our poll, and then show us some hype in the comments section below.

Spider-Man!
Shadow for me!
Hopefully EDF5.
Between the listed games: Dragon Quest XI.
Between all September games: Planet Alpha!
Basically Spider-Man, Dragon Quest, and etc.
if i had to choose just one game, it would be valkyria chronicles 4. but obviously i will eventually pick that up along with spiderman, dragon quest xi, tomb raider and life is strange 2 down the line... like way down the line once all these games are in the $20-30 range. unless you are rich or have an ocd, there is no way an average person can purchase every game at launch. heck, i have a list of about 20 other previously released games i still need to purchase!
Dragon quest and spider-man for me but i'll probably play everything except the sports stuff!
@Enuo Hello friend!
Dragon Quest and Spiderman I'll be busy with but seeing this list just reminded me Valkyria Chronicles 4 is coming too which is forgotten about. Will definitely pick that up but may buy it for Switch rather than Ps4.
Tomb Raider will be a birthday 🎁
Dragon Quest, Destiny, Tomb Raider and Spider-man will have to wait until I can fit it in...
Dear Valkyria Chronicles 4,
I really want to play you, but unfortunately you chose the wrong month to be released. I’m sure your beautiful art style and unique tactical gameplay will be a joy to experience.... next spring.
Once I’m done with Lara and Peter, I’ll come calling.
You forgot Zone of the Enders The 2nd Runner and I will playing D2:F and Spider-man
Destiny and Tomb Raider fo sizzle ma nizzle
Lara Croft will always be my first choice!
Spider-Man, Life Is Strange, and Dragon Quest for me. Although it's also my birthday in September so I should get a bunch of games for that too. Maybe I'll even be able to dust my Switch off.
No review of PES 2019 then Pushsquare? You took EA's money this year round, or just behind the times??
A good month, however I'm personally quite happy with the PS Plus titles this month. God of War III and Destiny will probably keep me from buying these games - which is great in itself with Red Dead Redemption 2 coming up...
@johncalmc @Atlclassic @Wazeddie22 @MightyDemon82 @Rick_Deckard @Enuo @Quintumply @PS_Nation Same here guys ! I already pre-ordered Spider-Man via the Pro Bundle a few weeks ago. I can't wait to play it
As for Shadow of the Tomb Raider I'll wait for the inevitable GOTY/Complete Edition and Dragon Quest XI when it hits $20-$25 New....so probably Fall 2019?
After a few months of quiet, we have a 'big' month of games that I want. Spider-Man and Tomb Raider are the games I am most looking forward to but also getting Forsaken as well.
I have to say that Tomb Raider is my most anticipated as I loved the first two (so much so that I have both the previous games multiple times on multiple platforms) and this is the conclusion to the trilogy of the reboot and birth of Lara Croft: Tomb Raider storyline that I have really enjoyed too.
Spider-Man is a close second and one of my top 5 most anticipated games of 2018. Both were pre-order worthy from my perspective.
I'm also high in anticipation for 8-Bit Armies to arrive on the PS4, in late September. I bought and played the game on PC already, but wouldn't mind buying it again for my PS4.
@tomassi https://www.pushsquare.com/reviews/ps4/pes_2019_pro_evolution_soccer
Spidey and Life is Strange are definites for me.
I always try to give FIFA a miss but usually end up getting it day one and playing far too much anyway so somewhat reluctantly it'll be that as well.
