THQ Nordic's Desperados III was a surprise announcement during Gamescom 2018's opening ceremony, as the series has been dormant since 2007's Helldorado. Given the team behind this game produced Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun, we had a feeling it would be in safe hands, and this new gameplay is looking pretty good.
Granted, it's still quite early on in development, and this is PC gameplay, but you can definitely see the Shadow Tactics DNA running through this. Apparently, the Desperados series was one of the studio's inspirations behind their ninja stealth strategy game, so it makes sense it's working on this sequel. As with its previous game, Desperados III will feature five characters with unique abilities, and you'll need to figure out the best route through each location, drawing as little attention to yourself as possible. There will be some safe zones where your characters aren't suspicious, and it's here where you'll be able to listen out for clues on new opportunities to take down the enemies.
It's looking pretty promising, and we'll definitely be keeping an eye on it. The game is due in 2019. Do you like the look of Desperados III? Watch out for traps in the comments below.

It does look good, hoping we get Shadow Tactics on PS+ at some point.
@LieutenantFatman That would be great. I actually looked it up to see how much it is, and it's down to £15.99 in the sale. Originally it was £44.99!
I really enjoyed Shadow Tactics...can’t wait for this!
wait there were two before this one.
@Kidfried A new Commandos game is in the making, too!!!
Shadow Tactics worked well with a controller, and it's likely they'll use the same system for this game by the looks of it. Not that you can really innovate that much when it comes to this particular kind of stealth game.
