There’ll be three parts to DONTNOD’s psychological thriller Twin Mirror, which intrigued when it was announced at E3 2018 earlier in the year. Episode 1: Lost on Arrival will launch in 2019, and a new trailer has been released to coincide with Gamescom 2018. You can watch it above.
The pitch outlined in the press release is complicated: you play as an investigative journalist named Sam, who returns home for the funeral of a friend, but wakes with a blood-stained shirt and no recollection of what happened.
Over the course of the campaign, you’ll be switching between reality and Sam’s own Mind Palace, piecing together clues and recreating memories in order to figure out exactly what’s going on. Along the way you’ll be joined by The Double, which is essentially the protagonist’s inner-voice. But is he here to help?
It sounds intriguing – there’s a definite Quantic Dream, almost Fahrenheit-esque vibe to this one. DONTNOD has proved that it knows its way around episodic stories, so we’re really looking forward to putting this through its paces next year.

The premise sounds interesting.
First DONTNOD game since Remember Me that seems slightly interesting.
The words "psychological thriller" got me quite excited. Then the word "episodic" got me much less excited.
Damn this trailer was trippy, definitely stoked to hear more about the game and see some live gameplay.
As long as his editor calls to remind him he's not being paid to play in his mind palace with that skag he's keeping, and to get his heinie out on the streets and dig up some fresh mud or else he can dig his way out of a sacking.
Interested in this for sure! DONTNOD have won me over with LiS & Vampyr.
