A novelisation of Sony Santa Monica’s epic God of War revival is set to release next week, and it’ll be accompanied by an audiobook narrated by none other than Alastair Duncan – also known as Mimir. This is an incredible touch, as the severed head serves as a kind of storyteller throughout the PlayStation 4 exclusive’s campaign, regaling tales from Norse lore while Kratos and Atreus explore the Lake of Nine.
There’s another wrinkle to this impressive story, though: the novelisation has been penned by none other than J.M. Barlog – the father of the game’s director, Cory Barlog. Both the novel and audiobook will be available from 28th August, and you can order both from Amazon via the respective links.

I’m actually really down for this. Mimir’s stories were one of my favorite things from GoW.
I might just get this. I love this game.
I love Mimir's voice in the game, so this is really tempting.
It should be called "The murmurs of Mimir"
I am on board for this project. I agree that his telling of the tales was one of the highlights of the game. I can’t count the number of times that I postponed docking my boat to hear the rest of a story. Must buy for me!
Yeah I'd be up for that
He actually looks like Mimir!! (except for glasses, no horns and a body).
Although tough competition prior and after, God of War could well be the game of this gen.
@Bluetrain7 Same. I never got out of the boat in till he was done talking.
god of books.word up son
Oh wow had no idea Celebrimbor was also Mimir.
I'm so worked up for this GOW Audiobook, my favorite game since I was a kid. Especially it will be narrated by Mimir, I'm sure this will be a hit of the year!
