Cult action platformer La-Mulana’s sequel is coming to the PlayStation 4, and it’ll launch in the spring of next year. The whip-based Metroidvania was playable at a pre-PAX West event organised by ID@Xbox overnight, and promises the same “sprawling ancient ruins [and] mind-boggling mysteries” as its predecessor.
Here’s an overview from the title’s Steam page: “In La-Mulana 2, you take on the role of Lumisa Kosugi – daughter of the previous title’s hero – as she explores the ancient ruins of La-Mulana, said to be the cradle of human civilization. Desperate to find the cause of the numerous recent appearances of monsters from the ruins, Lumisa heads to the ‘other’ La-Mulana: the ruins known as Eg-Lana.”

I tried playing the original La-Mulana a couple of times after all the hype surrounding it but I just couldn't get into it at all.
Nice, I really liked the first game. It was more than your usual Metroidvania game, they experimented a great deal with the format, tried out new things. It will be interesting to see what they can do. Even if it's the same or very similar, I'm still very much interested.
I'm happy to see that flyer has a Switch version mentioned! That's where I prefer to buy my indies.
Not encouraged by what I've heard about the puzzles. I'll stick with Spelunky.
@SDF_Macross77 With the exception of games that have exclusivity deals like Guacamelee 2, I think it's pretty safe to say all indies will be coming to the Switch when they hit consoles.
Shame La-Mulana 2 won’t be joining the previous game on PS Vita 😒
@Ralizah At this point I agree. Everyone seems to be onboard. Works for me!
@get2sammyb I agree, love Metroidvanias but this punished you for playing and making progress was difficult. No fun.
I'm just surprised that Nintendo hasn't filed a lawsuit for the term Metroidvania yet lol give it a week
I wont be buying it on the Switch. 😁 😃 😜
