The Last of Us’ celebratory Outbreak Day is over, and our faces are still very much intact. Naughty Dog has, however, released Gustavo Santaolalla’s performance of the series’ iconic theme song, which will be used in The Last of Us: Part II:
To be brutally honest, we don’t like this recording as much as the original. It’s definitely rawer and more jangly, which may speak to the tone of the sequel. What are your thoughts on it? Do you prefer the version from the first game? Pluck a string or three in the comments section below.

Good to know the music will be true to the original.
Love it. Distinctly unique. Instantly think of TLOU.
@NintendoFan4Lyf Deep.
Sounds like she's hunting for wabbits.
Good music. I'm a big fan of his work in the first game. It was very effective; accompanied the tone and atmosphere of the game very well. I love that ending theme.
@NintendoFan4Lyf The orange flavoured ones are disgusting, stay clear of them!
@NintendoFan4Lyf @Octane You should both be ashamed. Orange Jaffa Cakes are a gift from God.
@get2sammyb Strawberry all the way.
@NintendoFan4Lyf Get some imported, sir!
Jaffa Cakes. It's the dark chocolate that makes it so good. I've never heard of the strawberry flavoured ones, I'll have to try some of them. Wait...What was this article about again?
I'll perserve my final judgement for when the game actually comes out. Part I's OST is an absolute masterpiece.
I absolutely loved part 1 theme but I think I like this one better
I like this. Not as good as part 1 though, but it's up there. And Jaffa cakes are awesome! Whichever flavour, it doesn't matter...
I hate Jaffa cakes... but love this track.
I will wait to listen when the game is ready, lol.
The soundtrack of the first game, including the dlc, is a masterpiece.
@NintendoFan4Lyf wow🙌
