Look out -- here comes Marvel's Spider-Man. The long-awaited super hero blockbuster from Insomniac Games is finally here, and we imagine a lot of people will be web slinging through NYC and taking down petty thugs this weekend. Thwip!

The Destiny 2: Forsaken grind is on, but I'm going to be hammering Dragon Quest XI this weekend so that I can hopefully bring you lot a review in the near future. I can't wait to get stuck in.
Stephen Tailby, Senior Staff Writer
I've already made a massive dent in Marvel's Spider-Man, but the game is so hard to put down that I can't see myself playing anything else over the weekend. Maybe I'll carry on with the campaign in DOOM, or see if I can get a little further in Dead Cells. Ah, who am I kidding, I'm just going to play Spider-Man.

Right now I’m still loving Dragon Quest XI. This entry is finally one that feels like it belongs in the modern age, with updated mechanics left and right, and visuals that make me want to cry. I’ll never stop playing this game.

While I cry over my cancelled Marvel's Spider-Man pre-order and ignore everything everyone is posting on social media, I’ll be consoling myself by continuing to make poor decisions in Detroit: Become Human. Evidently, quick, informed decisions are not something I’m good at, but despite that I’m really enjoying the experience so far!

To build the hype before I finally play Marvel's Spider-Man, I'm going to get a retro perspective by watching a YouTube playthrough of SEGA's 1991 System 32 arcade game, Spider-Man: The Video Game, and I'll also enjoy a second read of Glen Fox's 9/10 Push Square review of Insomniac Games' latest excellent release.
Liam Croft, Reviewer
I'll be juggling my time between Marvel's Spider-Man, Destiny 2: Forsaken, and Immortal: Unchained this weekend. I desperately want to level my Guardian up a ton in order to have the chance of being raid ready for the 14th, but I just can't ignore the likes of the web-slinger.
Rebecca Stow, Reviewer
I might be one of the only gamers in the world right now who isn’t playing Marvel's Spider-Man, but I can’t help it! I’m still so invested in Planet Alpha. For a short indie game, it holds a tremendous number of secrets, which I have been enjoying uncovering. I will eventually get into Spider-Man, but for now my time is being spent in another universe.

This week I'll be easing myself back into PS4 seeing as the autumn/winter release rush is getting started. Some PES 2018 is probably in order, plus I'm hoping to pick up Yakuza: Kiwami soon.
That's it from us, but what are you playing this weekend? Will you be donning the red and blue suit, or do you have something else in mind? As always, let us know your plans in the comments below.

I'll be playing Tomb Raider (2013) multiplayer. Don't ask why.
I'll be playing some Spidey.
I've just picked up a pre-owned copy of the glorious Red Dead Redemption so I'll be dusting off the PS3 to playthrough it again in anticipation for RDR2 next month.
Of course, I'll be playing the usual Destiny 2 and Elite Dangerous over the weekend, too.
Too bad I'm not getting Spiderman as my backlog of games are taunting at me.
As of right now, still going through God of War & AC Origins. Try to get 100% completion while enjoying experience both of these games providing. Also, Yakuza 0 is amazing. Much like watching a Japanese movie while going through. Awesome.
For those of you that playing Spidey, enjoy the web-slinging & web-shooting.
Beside spider-man? Nothing
But seriously, just started spidey and man I can't wait to spend my time playing the game.
Edit: I must say, I take a lot of picture in this game, more than horizon zero dawn even, the city is beautiful.
I played a bit too much Spider-Man yesterday so for today I think I'm going to let it rest. I have an overwhelming urge to boot it up - it's soooo good afterall - but I don't want it to be over so soon. As such I'll most likely be back on Warhammer 40k: Inquisitor - Martyr, trying to get my Psyker to level 50, and playing a bit of Destiny 2 to see how the game is before deciding whether or not I want to give in and get Forsaken.
Finished Zelda botw this week, dynamite game, loved it. Not had the time for ds remastered on ps4, think I'm going to have a break from it for a bit. Just put a tv in our summer house and got the wifi extended, so my ps4 has left the house!!! Going to try red dead on ps now 7 day trial out there later, I've passed the connection test so fingers crossed. Enjoy spiderman for everyone who's got a copy, looks brilliant
Still playing rise of the tomb raider and planet alpha which is a cool game!
What do you think?
Whenever I'm not working, Spider-Man.
Been playing Dragon Quest XI all week. This game is absolutely gorgeous and the turn-based battles are very fast compared to previous entries. There's a lot of refinements and improvements too. The script is great, as always. The new monsters are so cute!
Yesterday, inspired by our current forum poll, I started Metal Gear Solid. Not played much yet but I'm looking forward to get further into it!
Sunday night can't come soon enough! I'm so sad that I have to work on monday 😥
I have Spider-Man. I want to play Spider-Man. But Monster Hunter World released new content so I need to complete everything there before moving on. Keep the free updates coming Capcom. I will never finish half of my backlog.
Been playing Dragon Quest XI, and now that I think about it what happened to the review on this site not that it matters too much to me by now since I'm already playing it but it seems weird not to see the review by now, anyways I'm also gonna play MHW like always
Big FF9 fan here, getting those vibes from DQXI... are these feelings misplaced or do you think I'll enjoy it?
My eye has got inflamed last weekend and I'm taking eye drops so I can't really focus on the TV, so I haven't been able to play Divinity all week which sucks. So I've been playing a lot of Dirt 4 which is easier played with "soft eyes" I've found!
Still, going to give Divinity a crack today, blurred vision damned.
Spiderman! This game is amazing! My daughter loves hunting down backpacks. No wonder he's so poor, he keeps buying new backpacks.
Spider-Man calls to me but I have to put Aloy to rest. I fell down the Horizon rabbit hole and am determined to actually finish it this time. The uniqueness of the world they created just is so ingenious. But yeah, otherwise, it’s Spider-Man.
Going to continue making slow but gradual progress with Nier Automata and Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor Overclocked. Also going to give the demos for Mega Man 11 and Fist of the North Star demos a try. And if there's time then I'm tempted to go back to Hatsune Miku Project Diva Future Tone and replay my favourite songs.
Spider-Man, of course!
I’m spending a lot of time with the photo mode too, people are creating amazing stuff with it.
Shenmue HD for me. Really enjoying it so far.
Spider-Man and Yakuza Kiwami 2. Also will be playing the Fist of the North Star and Mega Man 11 demos.
@kyleforrester87 Don't see why you wouldn't. The turn-based system is very traditional although it feels fast and modern, and the game has a nice medieval-ish setting like FF9. There's even a new feature similar to trance. I'm not too far into the story, but it seems pretty mysterious so far. Dragon Quest games have varied with the depth of their stories, but many have been quite dark. I'd certainly recommend it if you're into traditional style Japanese RPGs!
Hope your eye gets better soon.
Spider-Man 😁.
@Rogueleader76
Same. My daughter is loving the game way too much. Got to wait for my turn.
Dragon Quest XI
Pretty much the best turn based JRPG I have played in ages.
@JJ2 lol I know, me too. I'm glad she's enjoying the game, but the reason I got up at 6am was to play the game...my daughter got up too, expecting that I'd be firing up the PS4...way too early for a weekend lol
No Spiderman fore this weekend as I want to get as much play time in on the Battlefield V beta. Also planning to continue on with Octopath Traveler on the Switch and quite possibly Monster Hunter World on the Xbox with some co-workers.
I had hoped to spend time playing Spider-Man BUT GAME let me down. It still has NOT arrived and now won't until Monday at the earliest!!
This isn't the first time either and only went with GAME as the 'only' retailer offering the 'Steel book' edition so I gave them the opportunity out of necessity after numerous disappointments. However, in the future, I will seriously weigh up whether their exclusive editions are worth the disappointment of delays....
Anyway, as a result of this, I will no doubt be spending time on getting my 3rd Character to 500+ Light in Destiny 2: Forsaken - trying to finish the campaign on 2 characters and seeing if I can get 'lucky' with getting some 'new' exotics - still not got any outside of the Ace of Spades exotic which is a guaranteed drop on completion of a quest!
Jumping between Spider-man and Yakuza 0, both phenomenal games, more gripping than most movies, Spidey definitely has me more gripped than any cinematic entry!
Dragon Quest XI here. Just can't put it down. Loving it.
Another one here who will be playing Dragon Quest XI...the wait has been worth it and it is such a fantastic jrpg.I'm loving every thing about it so far and found nothing that I DON'T like about it.
Spiderman will be played too...such an awesome and fun game.Forget the story,I'm just swinging around looking for my backpacks!
Spider-Man 🤘🏾
hopefully Spider-Man, it should be delivered today but as of writing it's not here yet so IF it doesn't get here then it would be FINAL FANTASY XV Pocket Edition HD
what, it's fun
@BAMozzy yeah GAME did that a lot to me that's why i stopped using them, i ordered mine on Amazon and i would have got it yesterday but my local Post Office had a accident so we got no mail
that's why today's mail is behind and could be as late as 8pm before it gets here
Switch- Freedom Planet, Super Mario Odyssey, SNK Heroines, and Mega Man X collection(-4).
PS4- Yakuza 6, Street Fighter V, Fighting EX Layer, and King of Fighters 14.
No games for me all weekend which is a shame as I wanted to get stuck into Gears of War 4. I do really want Spiderman though. I am sure I will cave over the next week.
Hello!
Nascar Heat 3, which I bought this morning. They have improved on everything from the last game, plus added plenty of new stuff, so the game is bigger and better than before. It's quite a challenge playing on Expert-mode.
Planet Alpha. It's such a visually luxurious experience. It doesn't do anything new in this genre, but doesn't really have to.
Moonfall Ultimate, a 2D side-scroll action-rpg. The gameplay is fun, but the stand-out for me is the visual style, I like all handpainted games. There's a pleasantly dark atmosphere to the game.
Dimension Drive, a shoot'em up that actually does something different: you control two ships on either side of the screen (well, they are actually the same ship, you just swap dimensions … it makes sense if you watch a video of the game). It forces you think and react in a different way.
Ride 2. I'm trying to finish the game before Ride 3 arrives in November, I'm dead set on owning every single bike the game has to offer. The Career is huge though, I'm not in the risk of running out of things to do.
Oh you know, nothing in particular
@get2sammyb Hello indeed! The rumors of your demise are greatly exaggerated! ...That or @themcnoisy hijacked your account. 🤔
What are you playing this weekend anyways, sir?
@Th3solution Shenmue 2. Then Spider-Man! 🙏
Octopath Traveler and Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 on Switch.
Octopath Traveler for Switch and Shining Resonance Refrain for PS4.
On a very tight budget just now but I really needed a treat this week so luckily managed to grab Yakuza 0 for a tenner. It’s batcrap crazy, but totally awesome.
Spidey for me. Played probably just over an hour so far and really enjoying it. It's super cinematic and webbing your way around the city is great fun.
Finished dead space for the 2nd time and started dantes inferno for the 2nd timr in my opinion really underrated even though its an ea game 😂
Continuing my slow slog through Mafia 3, the game is dull as hell. But Im too far in, to give in
Spider-Man all weekend. I’ve been playing it since it released on Thursday at midnight. Put about 10 hours in so far, mostly in exploring, street crimes, and side missions. Leveling up fairly quickly at 11 already (50 looks like the cap). I'm loving it. Insomniac does brilliant game design. Just like Ratchet and Clank, you feel underpowered at first but they introduce new skills and gadgets that make you into a real hero. It does feel heavily influenced by the Arkham games, but it has a distinct personality and humor. The world building is deep and intriguing. The combat and swinging mechanics are perfectly honed. Neither is super complicated but mastery of them is a satisfying journey. The easter eggs sprinkled throughout the game show the care and love that they have for Spider-Man’s history and the whole Marvel comic universe.
@Rogueleader76 Actually, there's a part in Pete's monologue where he actually explains how he won a lifetime supply of backpacks 😂
I love that they bothered to include an explanation for that.
Spiderman and Prey.
Maybe a bit of PES2018 as well
@sketchturner yeah good point. I realized that after I posted this and got the Fisk trophy for science in a backpack. That's really funny!
Continuing on with Dark Souls.
Also started Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs. Because apparently one gloomy, disturbing game isn't enough.
Wow this is some week. Spiderman, dragon quest xi just a bit, the messenger, R6 siege, and immortal unchained, with a bit of zone of the enders remastered.
@get2sammyb
Sometimes I feel like bad guy when I'm ignoring crime because there's backpack nearby.
Spider-man Spider-Man and more Spider-Man with a sprinkling of GoW 3Remas.... oh who am I kidding, MORE SPIDER-MAN
UPDATE Spider-Man did indeed arrive yesterday and i spent a good 3 hours on it last night just swinging around, finding towers and backpacks and stopping random crimes
Ah bugger. Red Dead keeps freezing on my old PS3 and is literally unplayable for than 5 minutes. I bought LIS: Before The Storm in the sale and the first episode was really good. I think the new actress for Chloe is a great substitute for Ashly Burch.
I will not advance the story before I find every tower and and every backpack lol.
Also the game is not easy, I died a couple of times when facing the big thug.
Spiderman. Simply superb.
And done, all the tower and all the backpack, 4 hour of spider-man is enough for me today.
Next day, thug crimes, there's still 9 crime left
@Oldiebutnoobie Cool, I love the Dead Space games, and Dante’s Inferno was great little game too. One the best things I love about Dead Space, bar the near perfect mix of horror and sci-fi, is it’s amazing sound design and all those wonderful background ambient noises. Do you play them with headphones on?
Anyhoo, on topic, I’m finishing off the End Of Zoe dlc from RE7, through my PSVR 👻
Spider-Man, Dragon Quest XI and Yakuza 6.
Yakuza 0 and Spider-Man. That should have me occupied till RDR2.
Rainbow skies on the ps vita. Loving this game. Very addictive. Not sure why all the negative review. It a good old school RPG. Maybe reviewers only want epic games.
Continuing my Legendary Solo play through of Halo Master Chief Collection. I'm on mission 11 of 15 on Halo 2 and this has got to be the hardest of the 5 on this difficulty.
I'm quite jealous of all you PS4 guys playing Spider-Man as it looks brilliant and right up my gaming street.
