Borderlands 2 is coming to PlayStation VR later this year, and in many ways it feels like a decent fit for Sony’s virtual reality headset. Gearbox has clearly put work into the port as well, revealing that you’ll be able to drive from a first-person perspective and dual-wield weapons using two PlayStation Move wands. But, as is always the case in life, there’s a catch.
Asked on Twitter whether it’s the “complete” release, a spokesperson said that Borderlands 2 VR features the “full core game […] and the original four Vault Hunters”. In others words, it doesn’t sound like you’re getting any of the add-on packs – or any of the downloadable character classes. It’s a shame because this version isn’t cheap, so we’d very much banked on it bundling everything in.
Have you decided to skip the virtual reality port on the basis of this news? We suppose it’s possible the expansion packs could get patched in at a later date, especially if the game does well and there’s demand for it. But right now, it sounds like you’re going to have to do without Gaige the Mechromancer and Krieg the Psycho. There’s no online multiplayer either.

Was to be expected, as long as they won’t sell the dlc later on I’m okay with this
Maybe not a bad thing. I tried working through the Handsome Jack Collection (having played BF2 once through before) and couldn't finish it. Was just sick of the gameplay by the time I got to the prequel and the skybox on the Moon was just depressing. The Tiny Tina DLC was awesome though, and Mr Torgue made me chuckle, but the rest was a bit repetitive.
I was gonna get it. Now im not so sure...
Haven't heard anything about Borderlands 3 for quite some time now.
Figured the DLC wouldn't be bundled.
Still getting a lot of bang for the buck with the mainline game in VR.
I'm just in it for the humour and story.
I was considering getting it for a 3rd time, but only cause I never ended up playing the DND dlc on my ps3. Plus my fav character is mechromancer. Pretty dissapointing. Worth 20$ but not the price they’re asking.
Plus no AIM support is a crime for a game like this.
Are Gearbox trying to make BL2 there own Skyrim?
how disappointing, a hard pass for me, i am going to wait for a sale, no way i'm paying £40 for this, especially when there is no physical release either.
@RedMan33 at least skyrim included all expansions, it was expensive at launch mind you but still.
@Deadlyblack not really no when the handsome collection has both borderlands 2 and pre sequel and all dlc, this pales in comparison.
what a rip this is.
@huyi I meant more in the sense that there flogging it to death
@RedMan33 yes they are milking it to a extent, maybe skyrim and this game can go head 2 head.
–No DLC
–No Co-op
–No AIM controller support
Was excited at first, but this is officially on the wait and see list. The way it's looking, I might not even give Gearbox the money.
@Stragen8 Same for me, i only really enjoyed played as the mechromancer so im sitting this one out until (or if) they decide to release the dlc at a later date. Hopefully the game will be on budget too. Shame they decided to go down this route and the lack of MP. I can see this severely hurting sales for them!
@Xavien_Arx Yeah, I don’t see many people picking this up, unless it’s on a flash sale, and even then, there’s a lot of new VR games out I don’t see people going out of their way to get this one.
@CK97 don't forget no physical copy either.
So 2k wanted to make a great solo vr game, and decided to use one of their most beloved games to do it. Only they chose a game that is loved so much because of the co-op. Instead of say, porting a beloved game that is known for its atmosphere and solo experience, like Bioshock?
@huyi you mean to say they aren't doing a physical copy? Wow. Oh well....
It must be just me then, but full price seems extremely reasonable to me for what we are getting. Day one for me.
Why am I not surprised it's just the standalone game? They'll prob expect us to pay extra for all of the DLC and such lol.
