Dreams is really going to come to life when fans finally get their hands on it, but until then it’s hard not to be impressed with what Media Molecule’s doing with it. This new gameplay video from Game Informer showcases several creations that the Guildford-based studio’s working on in its own time, and some of them are seriously impressive.
The video begins with a traditional side-scrolling shooter, but it gets better from there. The next clip showcases a kind of space-based dogfighting sim, before we transition to an action platformer where you control a bear with a guitar. And finally there’s a multiplayer game with multiple stages where you operate a hammer, smashing stuff up for points.
If it doesn’t get your creative juices flowing then we don’t know what will – this is extraordinary stuff. We absolutely can’t wait to see what the community does with these tools.

Played dreams yesterday at a game convention in Vienna. Very interesting, but unfortunately you couldn't try the creative tools. Just these prefab demos, but the hammer game turned out to be quite fun.
Can't wait for this, really looking forward to see what people can create, and myself...although I don't know if have have the patience or time...
Wow, these games honestly look a lot better than I thought they would. Each looks like it could be separately released as its own indie game on PSN for like $5.99 each. I’m pretty impressed.
It could be possible that Dreams is the last game that you’ll ever need to buy.
I can't shake the feeling that this game is getting way too complex... It's great that it allows you to build whatever you can think of, but as a game it needs to be simple and intuitive, otherwise it will put people away from it.
@RenanKJ They want Dreams to be more intuitive and easier than Little Big Planet. The fanbase already created phenomenal games with LBP, now the possibilities are even bigger (3D games, movies, music, etc).
Even for gamers who don't want to create anything, you will have a lot to do with the creations of the community. Even developers of all the Sony studios are impressed with Dreams, I bet they will create some projects down the line.
@RenanKJ @PS_Nation Yeah, the more I see, the more I think I’ll just be picking up Dreams to play the games that the community creates over time, rather than to use as my own creative tool. I don’t think I’ll have the patience or creativity to make games, I think I’ll enjoy playing the workshop ideas out there like these in the video. it looks to be shaping up as an amazing hub to go to for probably endless gaming possibilities. Just look what the community created with Soul Calibur 6’s character creation tools in just a couple days. That’s elementary stuff compared to what Dreams can do.
Somebody will make colony wars vr on this game
@Th3solution I think this is the most impressive one so far: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2SHl_TR-6_4 Very similar to Astro Bot in terms of how it looks; I'm certain those types of games are achievable in Dreams. I've got my ideas penned down already!
Seriously impressive. I really hope this takes off as I know the community will come up with great games (amongst the not so great).
Homemade hentai games here I come! Try and stop me now Steam...
Seriously though, I am very stoked for this game. I think Sony are going to go all in this bad boy when it nears release.
Wow
It looks good just not for me.
You know someone is going to make HL3 on this!
This is a must have for me. If I do get frustrated with my own lack of creativity, I can always play other games made by far more talented folks. It's what I loved about MM's LBP.
I can already taste the feeling of inferiority when I upload something I think is amazing, only for it to be outdone by people with actual imagination and skill! More excited for this in VR than any "normal" VR game, should be incredible when people are up to speed and creating all kinds of experiences that might not ordinarily be approved to be made into a normal game.
they should just rename this game Awards
