Got it at lunchtime. Unfortunately got a dentist appointment shortly 😭 then work all weekend so gonna be Monday or Tuesday I get chance to play it. 😭
I preordered it, have it installing now, but have zero plans to start until i have the plat on spiderman
I've not bought it and I never will. Hahaha ha. Just kidding. I'll pick it up down the line.
At work and in the pub later but deep going to play when I get back. There's going to be Barney Rubble in my house for the next couple of months between me and the mrs over what goes on the tv!!
As I said before I have work today and company this weekend so I probably won't be able to play it much. I did start it last night, and I played a good portion of the intro. I got the special edition because I wanted that pump shotgun ASAP.
I was going to buy it, but my friend decided to buy a physical copy of the game, so I figured I'll just borrow it once he's done. I'm in no hurry.
I finally succumbed to peer pressure and bought it at launch, mostly to take advantage of the $10 discount that was offered. Likely it will be relegated to my backlog for a little bit. We’ll see.
Installing now, just a sliver of a smidgeon of a tiniest bit of install bar to go.
Cya in 2020
Got it pre ordered to collect tonight. Was going to go for the ultimate edition with the tin but I'm not paying 90 quid for a tin and some extra digital cosmetic stuff. It's bad enough paying 50 for the standard.
Already restarted twice because I lost ma damn hat. Been manually saving since.
Don't plan on getting it.
Just Cause 4 next for me.
Must finish Spider-man first!
Yep, had it pre-installed ready to go at midnight. Played for about an hour last night and then another 2 or 3 this morning. Really enjoying it so far, although it's not perfect and I actually have quite a few issues with it. They're small in the grand scheme of things though and perhaps my expectations were a little too high.
I'm working for the rest of today but then have 5 days off and I can't wait to get back out there and explore the world and this story.
I'm on a 3 hour train journey with it in my bag. Longest train journey ever. I had a blimp at the map, it looks big. Gonna smash when I get back home.
I suppose I “pre-ordered” but when it comes to Amazon it’s not really what most people would consider a pre-order. My first day 1 game that’s not FIFA since Xenoblade Chronicles X on Wii U, 3 years ago.
Will play it when I can. Out for a Halloween party tonight, day out at football tomorrow, some Wild West action on Sunday.
I pre-ordered the deluxe edition with large map at my local game shop for midnight pickup. But then I couldn't be bothered going down so I bought from PS Store as well. I picked up the physical game this morning, kept the map and gave t the game to my daughter.
Recorded my pre order yesterday and put in a few hours last night. Loving it so far, but the controls are indeed crappy. I'm sure I'll get used to them, but holding down a button for seemingly everything is definitely a drag.
Received. Bloody iPhone.
@TheArt You can get your hat back by selecting it from your horse inventory. Or you can pick it up off the ground with square, if you know where it landed.
Once you have access to Arthur's wardrobe you can put it on again whenever you like.
My bff preordered for me as a gift so should be there when I get home. That said, no time to play till Monday
I'll be picking my copy up on my way home from work, and I'll play it when I can.
Unfortunately I couldn't take time off work, also I work tomorrow so my weekend is pretty much gone since I'm going away on sunday -.-
Do you have any guide to fine tune your aim for people that don't like the default? I put it on narrow on foot and horse with the bars scrolled down to the minimum segment...I wanted free aim but I feel like that is a bit too much in this game
@ShogunRok I could've sworn I checked my horse inventory several times and wasn't there. I missed the hat so much just had to restart. Y'know there's always so much info popping up on R* games' screens so much it's easy to miss a lot, thanks still.
I really dont care for this game.
But then i dont care for gta either. For me they are sooooo overrated.
Preordered it on last day after seeing 10/10 from pushsquare, I want to play it but I want to try castlevania sotn ps4 first.
@Kidfried it's good to know I'm not the only one who's bought the game but can't play it all weekend. Glad the first few hours didn't disappoint.
It should be posted through my door by now, so I'll install it tonight and play it Sunday! Can't wait!
no, and don't plan on it. rockstar controls are generally game breakers for me. i'm not really a fan of the old/wild west genre either.
I don't like buying from GameStop but they were doing a 9pm release last night so I got it then. I figured I could at least install and download the update so I could come home from work today and it'd be ready to go. Of course it finished around midnight and I'm like I'll just play a little bit. You know..to see how it looks..😏 Also, it's good I decided to use my vacation time next week, although I didn't pick next week because of RDR2.
I pre-ordered months ago. I was a fan of both Red Dead Revolver and Red Dead Redemption (as well as the undead nightmare too) so it was always going to b purchased. Over the years, my interest has dropped from GTA (I must be one of the few that didn't buy 5) and not even interested in RDR2 online but I still had to pre-order the Ultimate Edition...
Nope, i don't like Rockstar's games at all.
Installing now. I can't wait to ride off into the sunset while the initial quest-giver watches me go, wondering why I'm not helping them fix their cart, or whatever trivial objective they need help with.
See you in thirty hours, initial quest-giver, I've got a massive open world to mess about in!
@Th3solution boyfriend keeps pestering me to buy it even when i don't want it (stupid dam trailers) so i am going to buy it reluctantly, i can always sell it after i've done with it so it's not all bad.
Pre-ordered the game from Rockstar themselves and still waiting for the damn thing to be delivered. At this rate I probably won't get it started until tomorrow.
According to Parcelforce tracking it was close to me early this morning but now the tracking isn't working. Getting slightly concerned.
Should (hopefully!) be on my doormat when I get home. By sheer fluke my wife is away, so on the Playstation I will play!
Was on the fence, but the reviews put me over the edge and I pre-ordered it last night. Haven't started yet because the notes about the long intro made me want to give it proper time rather than playing for an hour and then going to sleep. I never actually played the first one straight through (a friend's house I used to frequent over a summer seven years ago when I had no consoles had it, and I'd play in spurts), but that Maya Angelou quote about remembering how they made you feel versus what they said or did fits for my experience. I really really enjoyed playing the first one when I did.
I'll be getting the Complete Edition. Not interested in having to pay extra to actually own the entire game, assuming they haven't changed that.
@Gremio108 I think you’ve just sold me on this game.
Had hardcopy on preorder, but it's taking absolutely ages to install, as expected. Enjoying the free dynamic theme in the meantime and will defo be playing it all weekend! Haha, problem is I've now got two games unfinished in DQXI and AC Odyssey because of the crazy Autumn release schedule this year, and I'm the type who generally plays all my games to completion before starting the next one!
Picked my copy up from my local GameStop at 9 and started playing at like 1030 after the crazy install time and got like 4 or 5 hours in so far and I’m really liking it. Now the controls are indeed pretty bad and janky and the combat is nothing to write home about while the graphics weren’t as good as I was expecting it’s foliage is really bad like 2d bad but i guess horizon spoiled me on that so that right there keeps it from getting a ten but I guess most reviewers prioritize graphics, stories and how real it feels even though the survival mechanics are entirely superfluous and shouldn’t even be there. All in all I’d give it an 8 maybe an 8.5 and regardless of how good the story gets it won’t go higher because the actual game part which is the most important thing in a game is just entirely mediocre
I want to finish the two Metro before starting any new game since I'm totally into the atmosphere; in the meantime reviews of the upcoming Call of Cthulhu will arrive and hopefully Rockstar will fix some of those bugs and glithces in RDR2.
I haven't bought it.I'm planning on adding it to my birthday/Christmas list along with Assassins Creed/Far Cry 5/Spyro/Valkyria Chronicles 4 etc etc...if I don't receive it I'll end up buying it...at some point..
@LN78 Let's say he rated his first impression of the game, which makes sense. But what about one of the biggest italian gaming site which rated the game even if the reviewer candidly confessed he reached only 68% of the main story?
Maybe someday I'll understand the appeal of Rockstar's boring, boring games.
Not today though. Not today.
Had it pre-ordered since the week GameStop started taking them.
hoping still alive by the time its taking to install bonus re decorated house while waiting
@RogerRoger
The Kotaku review is beautifully written. However it's Kotaku and they often push agendas that have not much to do with the gaming experience itself.
not yet but I will buy it soon.im still playing the ps3 red dead redemption.ans monster Hunter world.word up son
It looks great, but Rockstar makes things a little too graphic for me. So I won’t be getting it.
@RogerRoger
Haha. You got an agenda filter?
Wow lucky you. you could make a fortune with it.
To be honest I was really enjoying the reading until I realised they going on about work condition and stuff
Yes
@LN78 if you read my comment all the way through you would see where I said the controls are janky, stiff and pretty bad and the combat is average at best and none of that is going to change even when I get 60 more hours in
Not yet, but I'll get it eventually. I'm still playing GTA V, so I'd like to complete it and then have a break from Rockstar games before RDR2. Plus my backlog is still quite big, so I'm in no rush to get new games.
I'll be getting it later on in November. I finish for Xmas on the 30th of November so I'll have plenty of time to play it.
I've a massive backlog that I'm not making progress on, so I really have no need to buy it yet, but I will eventually.
I used to always buy day one but as I got older I value my money more.
I succeeded at a job interview yesterday so bought the Special Edition as a reward last night; but it's taking 29 hours to install. So Saturday morning I can try the thing..
I'll get it eventually when it drops in price a bit or gets a PC release. I'm in no rush.
I will definitely buy it at some point, but my priority is on games closer to my liking, like Call of Cthulhu, Dragon Quest Xi, Ni no Kuni 2 and Ride 3.
Took the Friday off to play it and it’s more than lived up to expectations, but where can I get a damn horse brush?!
@dark_knightmare2 Thanks dude, you just save me 60 I totally agree with you, gameplay is more important than graphics
I'm one of the lepper-esque 7%. I had RDR on my Ps3 and
I just didn't like it. Whether it was because I don't like Westerns or the fact that I felt like I was just riding a bloody horse for hours and hours, for what ever reason I just stopped playing it. Saying that I've never been a fan of any of the GTA games either.
And with that, I'll get me pipe and slippers, have a good old game of Shove-Piggy-Shove, eat some cheese and biscuits and watch some re-runs of Time Team
My copy will arrive today.
Release is on our national holiday (Austria) so I can pick it up on Monday, duh.
@LN78 I’m sure I’ll get used to them well enough still doesn’t change the fact they shouldn’t be like that in the first place
Not my cup of tea. Never liked Westerns and even though it does look good, so do many other games I'd rather spend my money and time on.
@MistressTonberry I still have some games from the recent psn sale and skyrim vr to finish off, I'm not happy right now especially as this game is around 200 hours long.
4 hours in I'd say you'd look silly questioning the numerous 10s RDR2 has received if you have NOT played it. Like, actually PLAY it first. I'm amazed!
@ShogunRok Cool details. 😁
@playstation1995 How do you like Monster Hunter World i loved it. 😃
Just got it delivered this morning but probably wont get to play it much as im working all weekend
I've played a good several hours and so far I think it's been brilliant. The controls are absolutely fine, to me at least, people making a mountain out of a molehill yet again.
I'm waiting to see if they 'fix' the controls. You can have the best car in the world, but if your tires suck, your car isn't that great.
Happy gamer here. This is the best the old West has ever been!
I wasn't going to, but somehow my best buy gamers club discount is still working even though I didn't sign up again. So yeah, for $45 I picked it up, even if I won't play it for a week or so.
@huyi Haha, I know what you mean there! I'm a sucker for a good PSN sale myself, so I have the most humongous backlog of games I've not even started! I don't have VR, but I did want to make a start on the Skyrim remaster too before the year is out, but not so sure I'll be able to now as that's another 200+hr game itself and took me ages last gen!
@Flaming_Kaiser its a great game.best monster Hunter game ever.loves monster Hunter world.word up son
Nope. I did have the game pre-ordered, but ended up canceling due to lack of money.
However I will be buying it next year for sure when the GOTY Edition releases, if not sooner during Holiday sales.
just arrived so going to install it now,
I'll buy next year Xmas, I'm a very patient man when it comes to AAA games, wait for patches, fixes etc. Just started Detroit Become Human and then plan to play Monster Hunter World after that.
@huyi Yes, it is very true that you can probably resell it for a good price if you don’t like it. But you’ll want to hang on to it probably until next month at least so you can try Red Dead Online with your boyfriend.
I need to finish games before I buy them and I have plenty to finish. There will be a day I can buy it for 20.00 and then I will.
Not buying right now and there's a lot of other games I'm much more interested in both in my backlog and coming up for release. Sorry, RDR!
