Vampyr, the gloomy action role-playing game that launched earlier this year in June, has done very well for itself commercially, according to publisher Focus Home Interactive. The company's latest earnings report highlights "tremendous success throughout the second quarter" for Dontnod Entertainment's title. When it released, it managed to top the charts in the UK, France, Germany, and other countries, but it's worth noting that it launched during a rather dry period.
Still, it's nice to hear that second tier titles like Vampyr are meeting expectations. Focus Home Interactive always seems willing to push interesting properties and budget them appropriately, and it's good for the industry that this approach appears to be paying off.
Did you nab Vampyr earlier in the year? Don't spill too much blood in the comments section below.

nice to read,it was a nive game and i want a sequel
I would have bought the game but it did not review as well as I hoped it would.
I thought the mixed reviews were justified - the game felt like it could have spent more time in development.
With that said, I still had a good time playing it - and I'm always glad to see a smaller title like this do well, even if the execution didn't always live up to its ambitions.
I still want to play it at some point, just don't know when I'll get the time.
I actually got the platinum in this game when it came out. I liked it. Definitely clunky, but it's got a certain charm to it.
a game that ur action has real consequence, better than any other game that has the same mechanic
@NintendoFan4Lyf Sammy can play it with Taylor Swift in the restroom.😱😂👍.haha word up son
Focus Home Interactive is one of the most underrated publisher! Period!
When they don't share numbers, I remain skeptical. I always wonder whether they're being honest or if they're simply trying to get some coverage to improve sales.
Glad to hear it, even though I still haven't played it. What got me discouraged wasn't the review scores ("oh my, only 70 on Metacritic... must mean its garbage") but the fact that numerous sites mentioned that there's a lot of combat in it and it has always looked looked like the least interesting aspect of the game by far.

Super reliable with RPlay on iPad (compatible with MFI controller)

Also can use MoonLight for PC games (Nvidia Card) with the same MFI controller

That said - I'm waiting for the Switch version. I have tons of things to play at home on PS4. Not many choices for my Switch and commute.
You hit the nail straight on the head when you point out how important these games are for the current state of the industry. So it's really good to hear them work financial.
I'll be honest, it was really disappointing. I'd have traded it in but I kept forgetting to. Didn't have any emotional hooks in the story, the NPCs are almost all bland, there's not much depth to anyone, combat is simple and dull. If you've played it for about an hour, you've seen all the game has to offer.
Really pleased to hear that a mid-tier game did well sales-wise 😀 The comparative lack of decent mid-tier games this gen is worrying. Just wish that some other recent releases had had the foresight to release during drier periods too! Been planning to pick this up if it drops below £20 during one of the big end year PSN sales, as I couldn't justify getting this full price when there was so much coming out to save for in Autumn.
I still plan on buying Vampyr eventually, once my backlog has cleared.
Hoping for a $30 sale or less during Black Friday or Christmas sales.
I absolutely loved this game! I followed the production and bought it on day 1. Was not disappointed, bring on sequel after sequel!
Nice. I got this day one and enjoyed it immensely.
