Soon to be former Washington Nationals hot shot Bryce Harper will front MLB The Show 19 – but what jersey will the free agent wear? The six-time MLB All-Star and former Rookie of the Year will begin his journey into a new franchise as the star of Sony’s flagship sports series, with developer San Diego Studio partnering with the current Home Run Derby champion to help reveal his destination.
“Bryce’s unapologetic raw passion for the game and search for a potential team makes him the player to watch this off-season,” game designer Ramone Russell wrote on the PlayStation Blog. “He’s got the skill and tenacity to be a hall-of-fame ballplayer. He’s got an explosive drive to win, and he’s hungrier than ever for a World Series ring.”
MLB The Show 19 will release on 26th March, and while there’s no word on what will be new in next year’s edition, you can pre-order right now. “When you pre-order, you’ll receive 10 Standard Packs and 1 Gold Player Choice Pack,” Russell explained. “Pre-order at GameStop and receive an additional 1 Gear Up Choice Pack. Lastly, if you pre-order on PlayStation Store, you’ll also get 5,000 Stubs and instantly receive a Bryce Harper MVP Flashback Card you can use right now in MLB The Show 18.”
There are about a billion different versions of this game, so stick with us. The most premium is the Gone Yard Edition ($99.99), which is exclusive to GameStop and comes with an exclusive New Era hat – which you can wear both in real-life and in the game. You’ll also get a steelbook case and a bunch of in-game goodies, including Stubs and player packs. The Digital Deluxe Edition ($79.99) comes with a similar array of in-game goodies, and is exclusive to the PS Store. Finally, you can go for the MVP Edition ($69.99), which ships in a steelbook case and bundles in a few in-game extras.
For the full list of pre-order options, check out the PlayStation Blog. In the meantime, let us know where you think Harper will end up – and whether you’ll be picking up next year’s game.

I know virtually nothing about baseball but I quite like the look of that hat. A friend of mine often plays The Show games and raves about how they're the best sports game out there.
Awesome and well done series by Sony San Diego.
@roe They're very, very good.
Boo. Hiss.
@get2sammyb A little soon for "former" no, he hasn't even turned down the qualifying offer yet.

@rjejr Ah I thought he was definitely moving. My bad.
@rjejr but of course he will, this guy is gonna get PAID
@Onion_Knight Well we all knew he was gone at the beginning of the season too, but nobody was referring to him as a "Former" Nat all season long. "Soon to be former Nat" would be ok though @get2sammyb
@rjejr There we go. As requested!
I feel like the year 2018 just started and it's about to end...
@get2sammyb When the Yankees give him $300 mil tomorrow I'll let ya know so you can turn it back.
As a Met fan I'm obligated to hate him though so hope nobody signs him.
@rjejr Another Mets fan!
@doctommaso We're everywhere, alternating between hiding our heads in shame and chanting 1986! But we always hate Bryce Harper. And the Phillies, Dodgers and John Rocker. I used to hate Chipper but now I miss having him around to hate, and he named his daughter Shea so.
@rjejr We must be around the same age... Btw, why do we hate the Dodgers? You mean Utley? And yeah, I don't want Harper anywhere near the Mets.
@doctommaso I hated the Dodgers about 30 years before Utley.

2006 was pretty bad, but at the time in 2006 it just seemed like an early hiccup before we went on to a Yankees like dynasty. Little did we know ...
1988 was really bad b/c after 86 and then missing the playoffs in 87 we went into the 88 playoffs feeling like we were assured of a victory. It was a demoralizing series loss.
@rjejr oh gosh, Not sure how I forgot about that one. Maybe because I really respected Hershiser and I just felt like it was his year. Mets just couldn’t stop him. But yeah I was crushed.
@doctommaso Hershiser was the real deal, but so was Mike Scott in '86, and we managed to survive him, if just barely.
Anyway Dodgers were obviously a good team in '88, and nothing like the Utley incident, but I've held that grudge for 30 years, no point letting it go now. And it was easy rooting for the Sox in the Series after '86.
