Guacamelee! 2 was released back at the end of August, and it was another great Mexican adventure with Juan. Fiendishly challenging in places, it's a tightly designed and rewarding Metroidvania that's hard to put down. Any chance to spend more time in the Mexiverse is good news, and Drinkbox Studios is prepping a duo of DLC packs to keep people playing.
The first DLC, which arrives tomorrow, is entitled the Three Enemigos pack, and introduces a trio of new playable characters you'll recognise from the main game. El Muñeco, Uay Pek, and Jaguar Javier are three of the game's bosses, and with this add-on, you'll be able to tackle Guac 2 as one of these lovable baddies. There will be new trophies to earn, and each character will have pros and cons, helping to change up your play style.
The second DLC pack brings the Proving Grounds to Guacamelee! 2. The five trainers in the game team up to present you with 15 tough challenges, and as you succeed, you'll unlock them as new playable characters, again with their own gameplay quirks. The Proving Grounds DLC arrives on 7th December.

@Kidfried Might as well wait for "Guac 2: Super Turbo Championship 4k Edition" on PS5 then.
I'm still waiting for regular old Guac 2 on Switch myself. Wonder if the DLC will release at the same time?
Good thing I only bought the first one I didn't know this game was gonna get DLC, now I'm going to wait for the complete edition
@rjejr
Waiting for the Switch release as well. If it launches in mid-late December I see know reason why the DLC shouldn't be there for purchase as well.
@Gamer83 "I see no reason..."
I can't read that line and not have this song pop into my head.
I can think of several reasons, I'm a Wii U owner.
I'm ignoring your know typo.
Were you in NY for Thanksgiving? I was freezing just watching the parade on TV. Cooking a semi-frozen turkey for 4+ hours kept my kitchen warm though.
@rjejr
I live in upstate NY. Had a family get together at my aunt's house. It was bitter cold outside but her house always has the heat at max.
On the topic of this game. The Switch is not the Wii U, the system is selling and people seem to buy games in big numbers, especially indies. I wouldn't be surprised if the DLC isn't there day one but I also wouldn't be surprised if it is there. Drinkbox would most likely love to cash in right away. Wouldn't be shocking at all to see two options. One for the game by itself, another bundled with the DLC.

That's all I was saying. Still seems a little bit early for day 1 games and DLC between X1/PS4 and Switch. Maybe next year Switch can stop being 6 months to a year behind on everything. Well except DQXI, I'm just waiting for that one to be canceled at this point. I'm a glass half empty kind of guy, what can I say. I used up all my optimism writing post #18 here.

I'm still holding out for that physical release. Come on, Vblank Entertainment / Limited Run Games / iam8bit / Strictly Limited Games, make it happen!
