Sony's come up with some cracking deals over the years for the PS4, and Black Friday 2018 looks to be no different. North American retailer Target has advertised some of its Black Friday offers, and among dozens of other items going cheap is a standard 1TB PS4 bundled with the smash hit Marvel's Spider-Man.
The pack will be available for just $199.99, a saving of $100. This is an ideal bundle for anyone interested in getting one of Sony's consoles, and with the appeal of Spidey, we imagine it'll be an extremely popular Christmas present. There are also some good deals on other games, too, like God of War and Detroit: Become Human for $25. Take a look for yourself through here.
Will you be grabbing a bargain this Black Friday? Barge to the front of the queue in the comments below.

The Spider-Cop bundle. Great deal!
They’ll sell as many as they can stock.
Hope we get a good deal on PS4Pro. I don’t think I could stomach the thought of playing KH3 on my ‘scrub’ PS4... .
Yep, this will sell out. All depends how many they ship really.
Seems a good price - certainly doesn't appeal to me as I have a Pro and the game already though.
@BAMozzy Kinda makes you wonder what there are more of, people like you - already have the game, a Slim or a Pro - or people looking to buy a Slim holiday 2018 w/ the, let's call them murmurings, of a PS5 on the horizon?
Great game with a great machine at a great price, no argument there, but it's a 4 year old machine, made outdated by Pro and son to be obsolete by PS5. Just wondering if it will really fly off shelves and disappear? How much market is still out there for a Slim? Even a well priced Slim?
I own two PS3, so I get people might want another PS4, but if I wanted another it would be a Pro at this point, a lot of people have 4k tvs now who didn't before. I still don't have a 4k TV, but if I were buying a PS4 holiday 2018 it would be a Pro.
Black November
Brack Friday Bunduru returns.
So the ps4 only cost $140? Man this will sells so good
Also I like that sony bundles usually have physical games rather than digital.
Thanks for the ad link. Switch for $299 w/ MK8D "built in" is the best deal I've ever seen for a Switch, all the other bundles - SSBU and Pokemon and Diablo 3 - are $359 or up.
Won't be stealing away too many PS4 or X1 sales at that price, but it might finally enter the discussion.
Amazing bundle 👌🏾
There are a lot of games in my radar and the perfect price for them it's coming soon
@Eternallover21 God of war is the best game ever playa.im getting a new Samsung 4k tv with her.cant wait.word up son
Oh, the Ultra Violence known as Black Friday.
@rjejr Its 5yrs old - at least will be on Black Friday.
I would think that the most likely target for this deal would be 'younger' kids who may not be in position to buy their own console(s) (as a present from Parents) or second console for those interested in PS Exclusives. You would think that most gamers who can buy consoles, would have one by now and you would think the gamers that are more into the tech, the performance etc, would be more interested in a Pro (or waiting for the PS5). Therefore, this deal is likely to be aimed more at younger kids, the ones that haven't been lucky enough to have their own consoles bought for them over the past 5yrs, and those that may be looking for a cheap PS4 just for the exclusives. I am not talking about just Xbox owners here but they could be PC gamers and $200 for a PS4 to play the existing and upcoming exclusives could be tempting. The people who didn't think it was worth buying a console for the 1 or 2 exclusives a year that appeal when they are playing the multi-platform releases at higher visual quality and much better performance. I know PS4 and Xbox for that matter have more than 1 or 2 exclusives (maybe not the Xbox if you own a PC of course) but not all will appeal to everyone. Anyway that's getting off the point.
It may well be Sony's way of clearing out all of the base PS4's before the PS5 comes along next year. There was mention of the Pro becoming the only PS4 in manufacture by the time the PS5 launches. It makes sense to me as the Pro is better equipped to run alongside a PS5 which will be built for 4k - much better than to continue making the base PS4 which is built for HD TV's which are certainly dying out - at least from retailers and I don't think any of the 'big' manufacturers are making HD TV's now.
@BAMozzy "Its 5yrs old"
5 huh. Well that certainly makes the PS5 holiday 2019 argument look better when PS4 will already be 6. Can't imagine Sony waiting until holiday 2020 when it's 7 years old, even with Pro.
Well whenever it launches, surely they have to officially announce it next year, even without a date.
And I know there is always a new market, it's why Pokemon is still going strong 20 years later, but the first several comments on here were about Sony not being able to keep this on the shelves. It will sell, but it won't light up eBay.
What I need is a Sony Bravia 4K HDR at 199 in Black Friday
SoulCalibur 6 at $35, already. Sold.
@rjejr I really don't think the Pro should enter in the equation as to how long this lifecycle should last - not as the lead console. Its very much locked to the older base console and literally was built to offer a step up in resolutions to improve the image on 4k TV's - reduce the upscale blur. This is also evident in the CPU and RAM which had a very minor boost but ultimately remained very close to the base console.
Removing exclusives from the equation, which are built for the PS4 and can be tailored to the hardware at the very core - changing the layout for example to reduce draw distances to lighten the load on the system in busy scenes - a bit more difficult to do with multi-platform releases as they all have to have the 'same' world, we are seeing a lot of games that cannot maintain a consistent visual and/or frame rate. That's indicative of the limitations of the hardware. Even the Pro can't offer more than HD in some games - Soul Calibre and Tekken 7 are two that are HD (1080p) on Pro - probably because they are also 60fps and therefore only have a 16.6ms frame time but that also shows in the base consoles which are scaled down from full HD.
The fact though that the Pro was built to offer just a visual boost over the PS4 is why it can't be considered or a point at which this generations life cycle was 'reset'. It shouldn't have anymore impact than a Slim or super-slim iteration had as its still just a PS4 - albeit with a bit more under the hood. I see people saying they can't release a PS5 until 2020 or even 2021/2 because Pro owners will be upset that their 'expensive' new Pro will only be a few years old but its still locked to a generation that was already 3yrs old when it launched. If you bought a PS3 Super Slim at launch, a year later the PS4 launched...
@BAMozzy "I really don't think the Pro should enter in the equation"
I'm a little behind - had stuff to do yesterday - but we certainly agree on this. We agree so much I had to check if your first sentence was a copy and paste of something I wrote yesterday in one of my many long replies in the comments on the 2TB Pro article. Your lucky you missed that, it got REALLY wordy in the end.
Here's the relevant part on which I think we agree.
"7. Mid gen has nothing to do with it, the Slim is probably outselling the Pro 2-1. The cheaper Slim is extending the life of the PS4, the Pro is just a few extra $ in Sony's pocket. It's basically a non-factor in my thinking."
As to all that other stuff you said about the Pro just being a nicer version of the PS One or PS3 Slim I've been saying that for years. I'm a hard man to impress and while Pro is nice, it's still just a nice PS4, it's not a PS5, it's not next gen. New 3DS is more next gen than Pro, New 3DS got at least 3 games the original 3DS can't play. And a couple like Hyrule Warriors the original can play, as a slideshow with half the enemies in the game. As you said, Pro added checkerboard 4k for 4k tv owners, not much else, even the Slim got HDR support. It's the same console.
@rjejr I didn't bother with that article as it was centred around Japan and I put a 2TB HDD in my Pro soon after I got it anyway so didn't see your comments.
In all honesty, I would have loved a PS5 this November - even though I have a Pro (and PS4). The comments about RDR2's use and implementation of CBR for example would not have been an issue at all and Sony would have had the 'best' version - not just visual either but maybe even 60fps too. We wouldn't be wondering if Last of Us 2 is 1440p (like all other PS4 ND games - the remasters are PS3 games btw) or wondering if the Pro versions of games can at least get close to delivering a 'decent' 4k experience and a 'consistent' frame rate too.
Another year though can be beneficial as it opens up more options for hardware choice and at a more reasonable cost. I still think they 'could' of used 14nm now and then in a few years time, used 7nm as a 'refresh' - after all that's the same principal as the PS3 slim (went from 90nm to 45nm) compared to the PS3 Phat.
The Pro serves it purpose - as a half step between the HD PS4 and the full 4k we 'expect' from the PS5. It has the same structure and library too as its still just a PS4 with an extra GPU essentially bolted on to double the resolution. Its not a radical design departure that is being held back because of the base PS4 but more a PS4 with a bit more under the hood to offer those with 4k TV's a better PQ than a base PS4 would.
I do find it odd that when the subject of 'next gen' crops up, that the Pro is used to argue that they shouldn't bring a new console for 2 or 3 years - making the base console around 7-8yrs old when that base console is having to compromise more on visual quality and/or frame rates with each passing month. Makes me wonder if they expect Sony to wait until the PS4 is struggling at 720p, the Pro struggling to hit 1080p until they decide to catch up with technology. Sony normally like to be at the forefront, as well as decent cross-over phase where the two generations co-exist for a couple of years. If you look at the PS1, that stopped production around a year before the PS3 hit. The PS2 went on right up until around a year before the PS4 hit - the PS3 has been discontinued now for over a year and coming up for 2years. Around 2 years after it was discontinued, PS+ will cease on it too - early next year.
When you consider the pace of most electronics, consoles go on for a LONG time. Gaming is electronic based and every year we see new mobiles, new TV's, new CPU/GPU's etc which can age consoles even quicker yet people still seem reluctant to want a device that can offer significant improvements on the things they enjoy most - not just visual either...
@BAMozzy So that was you wanting a PS5 this holiday? I wasn't sure. I guess that's your curse for being so familiar with the hardware you know how poorly it underperforms and how much better games could be with newer hardware.
TLoU2 I'm sure will get released twice, once on PS4 and once on PS5. Even though I expect PS5 to be bc, I'm sure Sony will find some way to make it that the PS4 games on PS5 can only get checkerboard like on Pro but you'll need to buy the PS5 version to get native 4k. Something like that. That will be easy on disc, no 4k info on the PS4 disc, not sure how they'll pull it off on PSN. But I do think somehow Sony will figure out a way to have both bc for PS4 games and convince people to buy a newer PS5 version. Interesting times, next year should be fun.
@rjejr I am still not convinced the PS5 will have BC - certainly not FULL BC with the entire library of PS4 games. BC isn't easy on consoles and whilst the XB1 does offer BC, only a quarter of the games are actually playable. Sony's PS3 had the PS2 chipset built in - part of the reason it cost so much and was removed for the Slim.
It may well come down to cost, loss of income from remasters, PSNow subscriptions etc vs the 'loss' of sales by not having this feature. It hasn't impacted on Sony's PS4 sales and the fact the XB1 has it (to a degree), hasn't really seen the Xbox close the gap either. Its not like gamers have to sell their PS4 when they buy a PS5 - they could keep both connected to keep playing PS4 games. I kept my 360 and PS3 connected for a year or so after - eventually moving them to the bedroom when they weren't getting any use at all - just in case I had the desire to play an older game.
Just changing the CPU clock speed can have a negative impact on a game that is built and optimised for a specific hardware configuration - this has been seen in a few PS4 games and the 'boost' mode on Pro. That comes with a disclaimer for a reason.
Even a software solution - emulation - doesn't guarantee that ALL games will work and as expected. I would expect that Sony would need to run tests to ensure everything works, inc all DLC and without any negative impact - bricking the console, destroying game files/saves etc. MS has a dedicated team adding a few games but also can't add some because of licensing or able to contact the devs/publishers.
I would prefer it if Sony made a truly next gen console without even considering BC at all. All the money going into the future of gaming and then, and only then, wonder what, if any, BC the console has. Of none - so be it!!
