It’s been over three years since Batman: Arkham Knight launched, and many have been pondering what London-based developer Rocksteady has been up to since. Sadly, co-founder and game director Sefton Hill took to Twitter to quash rumours that it may have something to show at The Game Awards next week.
“We’re still hard at work in our development bunker so don’t expect an announcement from Rocksteady Games,” he wrote. “When it’s ready to show, you’ll be the first to know.” Hill added that, contrary to common speculation, the project has nothing to do with Superman.
There’s no real evidence of what Rocksteady Games has been up to, but one common theory seems to point to some kind of Teen Titans-type title. Unfortunately, it seems we’ll need to keep waiting for an answer to that question, but hopefully we learn more soon.

i REALLY want Rocksteady to make a Green Arrow game, the Arkham style would work great for that
either that or a Nightwing game
Oh well atleast we’ll see The Avengers game.
@Badboyfx86 MAYBE.
That's disappointing because after showing how you do great Batman game it would have been awesome to see how they do Superman. A teen titans game just wouldn't have the same appeal to a wider audience.
@get2sammyb @badboyfx86 yeah it’ll be either the game, a trailer for the new movie, or possibly both. But if events have told us anything in the past, the game’s not a lock.
Glad its not superman do not find him interesting
This from the developers who said the Arkham Knight was a brand new character. Even if they were making Superman they're hardly likely to confirm it on Twitter before it's announced
Glad they're not making a Superman game, i would just love another Arkham game personally, i don't even care if it's a huge leap from previous games, i'm just really missing the series and am craving a new game so more of the same would be fine for me.
@AdamNovice superman is too overpowered to make anything interesting out of him in a video game. It would be really boring. Mechanically that game would always be broken.
That's some S rank dream smashing right there.
But........Superman 64 turned out so well! More rings for everyone is what the gaming landscape needs!
You read here first: they make an Arrow game!
I've always thought it's more likely a Justice League game. May not be that either though.
@AdamNovice There were great Batman games before Arkham, there's never been a GREAT Superman game.
That really would be something special.
Alas. My money is on an online f2p JL or TT game 😔
Can't believe people want an arrow game over superman. What's wrong with you guys? 🤔
Them supposedly working on a superhero "game as a service" is an automatic no for me if true. Rocksteady is a good developer, but this seems like a serious waste of talent. Am I judging too soon? Perhaps. But given WB's past history and the ever-growing rise of "live services", I see nothing good comimg out of this.
@Deljo simple, Green Arrow will fit really well into the game play of the Arkham series where as Superman would be more difficult
plus how do you make the Man of Steel weak enough to make it a fun game to play without ruining the character, he's virtually indestructible
@NecuVise Which is why I would love to see a studio with their talent actually try and attempt it.
@AdamNovice and fail it? No thanks, let's use their resources for something more reasonable I'm a big fan of their batman games including knight, so high hopes for their next game.
I think I must be the only person who would to see Rocksteady make an original IP and not make another DC character game.
Does Warner Brothers own Rocksteady or did they hire them to make the Arkham games? If it's the former maybe they are the team making that rumoured/leaked Harry Potter game.

I hope they're making a He-Man game. I'd pre-order that.
@Badboyfx86 Thanks for the link, the Harry Potter thing was a random thought about what IPs WB own. It confirmed they do work for WB though.
Looking at my blu-rays maybe they could make a 'John Wick' game or The Matrix. Then again maybe my original thought of a completely new IP would be best.
@BearsEatBeets John wick would be great
I would LOVE them to make a cool Superman game
Without Nerfing Supes Its difficult to imagine an interesting Superman game, and I love the character.
I'm telling yall now. There making that Harry Potter game. They said earlier this year that ppl would lose there mind when they see what were working on. So if its not a Superman game its gotta be that. Bc very few ppl wanna see another Batman game. They've bled that dry
@CB7Tuner91 Rocksteady making a Harry Potter RPG LOL please do research before commenting. https://www.tweaktown.com/news/63381/avalanche-software-making-new-harry-potter-rpg-sources/index.html

It’s a team of super heroes game, but GAAS though.

SuperMan What embarrassing you have in your nose .
Shame I was really looking forward to a proper Superman game finally.
Hopefully a developer will do the man justice eventually.
Superman would only really work in a Justice League game, where you would only be able to use him at certain times (to avoid the 'superman loses his powers' trope).
Hope it's a game about Batman recruiting the Justice League
To be fair , it's a PR statement and they can be lying through their teeth and just don't want to say anything until the big reveal . Just saying it's a possibility .
@Badboyfx86 well if that last article is true and they are doing a GaaS than it's a hard pass for me. This is why DC will always be behind Marvel. Most ppl that want superhero games want ones like Spiderman or the Arkham games. Not a multiplayer game. Not to say theres anything wrong with multiplayer it just doesnt belong in DC game.
