We don't want to immediately start wishing away 2019, but there's still about six months to go until we can get behind the wheel of Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled. This remake of Naughty Dog's PSone kart racer has looked great since its debut trailer at the Game Awards 2018, and the latest screenshot is no different.
In a direct comparison of the same scene from Dingo Canyon in both games, the updated version is almost unrecognisable in its modern guise:
As with the N. Sane Trilogy and Spyro: Reignited Trilogy before it, there's clearly a lot of effort going into fleshing out the environments in Nitro-Fueled to make them feel truly modern. We'll definitely need to see a little more from the game yet, but the early signs suggest it's in safe hands with developer Beenox. Are you excited for CTR's comeback on PS4? Looks impressive, really looking forward to it. Will have to get this one on release.
I've waited for this for soooo long, I can not wait for this game.
HURRY UP! JUNE THE 21st!!! + I hope in the 4 player split-screen mode it has Bots to when you play with 3 other real people in split-screen mode. If not then that would be pathetic :-/ I thought each Gen things would get better but with any split-screen games(well the rare times we do get any nowadays) it hasn't (Yes I despise online gaming)
Can't wait for this game, it will be day one for me
It releases on my wife birthday. I wonder if she'll accept it as a present from me?
Looks good. Loved this game back in the PS1 days.
@gingerfrog if that's the case, you have a very cool wife. Still, back up the gift of Crash with a nice bouquet or perfume
@Turismo4GT
We played it so much when she was pregnant with our first. Honestly if platinum trophies existed we'd have got them each. I wouldn't be surprised if my daughter learnt how to play in the womb.
But all that said she'd still have the hump unless I got lots of accompanying gifts. I have form in this though, I once got her hotel the board game second hand at great expense, as she loved it as a child, and we played together as a family which made her so happy. So who knows the outcome
@gingerfrog nice, awesome wife and family confirmed. That's great of you man.
I remember I was almost like a Pro in this game hopefully they keep the gameplay the same and not change anything
I remember playing a bit of this back in the day, but if I'm honest I can't remember a whole lot of it. The screens look great in terms of detail but it's hard to tell how the track design compares as a whole with the likes of Mario Kart. The range, quality and variety of courses in MK8D on Switch is staggering, so it's a lot to live up to. Fingers crossed!
@Carl-G Amen. Splitscreen is where the real fun is at!
I am getting a little bit of excitment here I never clicked with mario kart but CTR oh boy I loved CTR
