Resident Evil 2 is already a nostalgic treat, reviving a 1998 survival horror classic for an all-new era. But Capcom wants to give your rose-tinted spectacles a rub with some post-release skins that are sure to have retro fans salivating like a zombie. New skins for protagonists Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield will resurrect their PSone-era polygonal look, and they’ll be available for free from 22nd March.
Now there will be other opportunities to obtain these – well, in Japan at least. For example, purchasing a specially branded ¥3,000 PlayStation Store voucher will net you instant access to the outfits, although it’s unclear whether the same offer will be available in Europe and North America. We’ll update as soon as we learn more, but for now take a moment to appreciate the fact that this content exists at all.

So good!
yeah, it is good, i just hope it comes to other regions.
If im understanding correct, its going to be a free update for everyone, except Japan, right?
@hulkie no, it says the content is available in japan, but it's uncertain if it's coming to other regions.
I was hoping we'd get retro costumes in the game.
Woah these are looking great and a bit like the Solid Snake outfit from MGSV.
Lemme get this straight: is the game gonna run even better with those character skins, since it'll have much fewer polygons and less detailed
textures to render? 😂
Free is great, but two months ths after launch to release these seems like a bad move for a game of this type and length. I hope they have some massive after launch support planned if they're doing things like this.
Kind of sucks that we have to wait 2 months but it's free! So I'm not going to complain.
Give me that 32 bit low polygon pixelated sexiness!
This story confuses me? They’ll be available for free from 22/03. Japan you get them by buying a voucher... so where are they free? 😳
@SwanPrincess83 they're free and will be released 22nd March. However Japan can get it sooner than that date by purchasing the said voucher. Hope that clarifies the post
On one hand, this is a neat bonus for fans of the classic games.
On the other hand, if I want to play classic RE2... I'll just pull out my PS1 and play it. The whole point of REmake 2 is to touch up the presentation with modern technology.
Are you seriously telling me that they couldn't get these finished in time to put on the disc?
LOL! this is amazing.
