The recent Resident Evil 2 remake has been a bit of a home run, hasn't it? The PlayStation 4 retelling of Capcom's beloved PSone horror title is a great reimagining for a modern audience, and it's been heaped with deserved praise from more or less everyone. It seems to be selling well too -- the publisher announced last month that it had shipped three million copies in the first week, which is an unbelievable start.
Now, Capcom has said the game has shipped four million units. It's already fast approaching the lifetime sales of the original Resi 2, which stands at just under five million. To celebrate, the publisher released the above video, a roundtable with some of the key development staff. It's pretty interesting to hear what they have to say about the project.

Have yet to buy it cause I'm busy with other games right now and I usually wait for a price drop.
Will there be a complete edition eventually you guys think? Or will there not be any paid dlc?
Masterpiece.
Nice, will buy it after I'm done with kh3
I think it sets the bar for all future remakes. A stunning achievement.
Good job Capcom
@Amusei There has been no paid DLC announced yet, it's all been free so far. Unless you want the stuff that came with the special edition.
It’s really good, I actually prefer Evil Within 2 though, as far as 3rd person survival horrors go.
Great game and the best remake I've ever played in terms of how much it retains and feels fresh at the same time not to mention the monumental increase in visual quality. At this point I'd expect a Resident Evil 3 remake given how much the original recycled from 2 the first time round and what they can take from this.
What with this and Devil May Cry 5 next it's been a great start to the year for Capcom and the RE engine looks to be something special
@JohnnyShoulder Oh alright, thnx 🐈
There does seem to be a 'craving' for nostalgic games with RE2, Crash & Spyro selling well. Certainly looked like they did a good job remaking this...
Glad to see the remake is doing well. It's a great game.
@carlos82 A very, very VERY credible leaker has confirmed that RE3make has been in development for some time now.
Said leaker was the one who told us about Sekiro and the RE2make reveal trailer in E3.
@carlos82 @Nickolaidas Capcom absolutely love a remaster/remake, I can't see Resi 3 not happening, and then CV. And then they'll all show up on PS5 with resolution bumps. Along with Resi 4 which must be up there with Tetris as the most re-released game.
@kyleforrester87 @Nickolaidas yeah I remember reading something along those lines, it makes sense as the police station is done and it doesn't take much of an imagination to transform the Tyrant into the Nemesis. So hopefully it's true, I'd also like to see Code Veronica but perhaps change it's direction a bit and keep Leon and Claire together, in any case it's great to be getting these types of game again and I'll be picking up Evil Within 2 soon
@carlos82 I don’t know why I liked Evil Within 2 tbh. It’s not really scary, I just thought it had some good ideas.
My favorite game of the generation and going by these numbers I'd say an RE 3 remake is a certainty. Would like to get 8 first though, hopefully in third person. Same type of gameplay as RE 2 remake. Very happy to see the game is selling so well.
I have not but on my list and will absolutely pick it up once I clear my backlog a bit.
