Well, then – this looks eerie, doesn’t it? Get Even developer The Farm 51 has announced Chernobylite for the PlayStation 4, a sci-fi survival horror developed using a 3D-scanned recreation of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. If you ever played the Chernobyl VR experience for PlayStation VR, then you’ll know just how eerily accurate this recreation is likely to be.
Unlike the virtual reality tour, though, this is a game in which you’ll need to “survive your fears”. Set some 30 years after the nuclear disaster, locals are infected with a dangerous substance known as “chernobylite”, which is causing all kinds abnormal things to happen. Unfortunately for you, your girlfriend’s gone missing in the area.
You’ll be able to ally or compete against other stalkers, crafting your own gear and weapons along the way. There’s no date attached to this just yet, but it’s a compelling pitch, and if the developer can deliver on the free-form gameplay that it’s promising, then we could certainly see it being a hit. One to watch for sure.

Isn't it a bit daft setting it 30 years after the disaster, considering we're now 33 years after the disaster and there are no creepy buggers shuffling about wearing glow in the dark gas masks?
Oops, I’d forgotten about Get Even. Bought it upon it’s release and played a good few hours of it. Really enjoyed it but I think I’ll have to do a restart to get back into it’s story.
Anyway, better finish it before Chernobylite comes out because I’ll probably buy this too.
Man i hate pre rendered cg trailers. But it sounds like a cool idea. We'll see
Looks interesting. Will probably pick this one up.
