Well, here’s a headline we never thought we’d write: THQ Nordic has an incredible 77 games in development. That figure’s accurate as of the end of last year, so is probably even higher now given its recent acquisition of Kingdom Come: Deliverance developer Warhorse Studios among others. While it’s possible this number may be bolstered by ongoing investment into existing titles like Darksiders III, that’s still a phenomenal statistic.
“We look forward to our most exciting year ever,” said jubilant CEO Lars Wingefors. “By the end of the quarter, we had a record 77 games under development. 48 of these are still in the pipeline waiting to be announced, including a few that are scheduled for release in 2019.”
For the 12 month period ending 31st December, the Swedish publisher saw its net sales increase by a staggering 713 per cent year-over-year to $447.6 million – although this jump can be directly attributed to its copious buyouts, with its purchase of Deep Silver being the largest driver. Nevertheless, with the organisation now having brands like TimeSplitters and Alone in the Dark under its umbrella, we’re fascinated to see how much more it can grow over the coming years.

Absolute madness.
Hey, THQ Nordic, I have an idea for a game. Want to buy it? I’ve never made any money off it but hey, I don’t think that small detail should discourage you.
thq got the 💵 dollars.word up son
I just want to be able to hear the words
ITS TIME TO SPLIT on my PS4 (or 5)
I actually tried remaking Mexican Mission and Siberia in Dreams beta this is how much I want Timesplitters , I really hope they do something with the IP
Let's hope they won't turn evil like EA
Spongebob Battle For Bikini Bottom and Simpsons Hit and Run remeasters anyone?! I personally hope so!!
I’m kinda happy there’s a more ‘mid tier’ non Indie publisher willing to put out games. I feel like everything I see is massive AAA live service games that I don’t have the time for. I miss PS3 days where there was more of a balance between unique low budget titles and the big EA/Activision games.
For me that is Excellent news. The more games there are, the more chance that I will find some that I want to play! I doubt all 77 will appeal but at least I should find a fair few that will. It makes sense they would have a sizeable quantity in development having bought up studio's and game licences - you don't tend to buy a licence just to do nothing with and having bought them, you need people to make them.
With EA and Activision getting a 'soured' name amongst gamers, I do hope that THQ Nordic don't copy their mantra. It does seem though that they actually want to make games rather than just make 1 or 2 and try to bleed every penny out of gamers on those.
I hope that THG Nordic sort of remain doing what they are doing and focus on some of the lower end AAA or even AA titles because there is a gap in the market and will go to prove that a modestly budgeted game well executed can make profit.
If I could play TimeSplitters on PS4/5, I would be so happy.
Go THQ Nordic! Go!
It's like THQ never left us.
Let's hope they ain't a buggy mess like the so called Remasters of previous games
Kingdoms of Amalur or don't care.
I'm delighted for them but genuinely baffled as to how their sales are so strong as a lot of titles they release seem to really fly under the radar e.g. Darksiders III.
Hoping that 1 of those unanounced games is a kingdoms of Amalur remake.
I hope they dont go the Activision Blizzard route. We need to put out more games who cares about quality. 😜
Looks like they are going quantity over quality
BRING ON!...
TimeSplitters 1
&
TimeSplitters 2
&
TimeSplitters 3(FP)
&
TimeSplitters 4
&...(repeat until)...
TimeSplitters 77
While i applaud the ambition id rather have few games of better quality and use the extra resources to market the games properly.
Madness. How is that sustainable.
Don't push my Timesplitters buttons with those headers, Pushsquare!!!
Build it cheap to a pre-existing formula.
How can that be profitable? I mean, how much room on the market can there be unless it’s got a lot of cheaper niche indie type titles.
Must be some world record
Quality > Quantity
IT'S TIME TO SPLIT!!!
