Well this brings back fond memories, doesn’t it? Space Channel 5 VR: Kinda Funky News Flash! is strutting to the PlayStation 4 in the near future – and judging by this trailer, it appears to be very faithful to its Dreamcast forebear. This trailer will prove particularly nostalgic to all five of you who pulled shapes with Ulala back in 1999.
There’s no word on a release date for this just yet, but we’d expect it to deploy at some point this year. Are you ready to chu, chu, chu your way to victory? Dye your hair pink in the comments section below.

Guessing there’ll be no Michael Jackson in this one.
I hope sega port crazy taxy, skies of arcadia, house of the dead, and power stone next. Or all good dreamcast games
Edit: And samba the amigo with ps move support
@wiiware PSVR versions of HOTD, Virtual Cop series, and their other light gun games would be very welcome too! 🐬 (they don’t have to be full 360 VR either, like the gameplay of Operation Warcade)
@gdog989 All of sega and namco arcade light gun game should be remastered/ported to ps4, I actually a fan of light gun games back then, time crisis on arcade and hotd is my fav
Cool 😎 I used to take my Saturn to a mates house with all cables, and lighguns and we used to have a blast! At home, I’d play VC2 with my fav tracks from the Matrix OST, and by the time I finished the game and the end credits would roll, Wake Up would be playing 🌅
Really wish Sega would revive Metropolis Street Racer, not only was MSR an outstanding arcade racer in itself, it went on to evolve into my favourite racing series ever in Project Gotham Racing.
Seeing that we'll never get another Project Gotham Racing game (the only reason I owned an Xbox/360 was for PGR and Ninja Gaiden). It'd be nice to see the original game come back to life. Make it happen Sega!
I don't want VR lightgun games. I want lightgun games.
Namco could release Time Crisis 5 and just re-shell the G-con 3 and sell it with the IR sensor set up.
I really think this article should have been written in Ulala’s odd interview style haha
Can we get Both a Rival School and a VR Ready To Rumble Boxing game and Last For Sega to stop Ignoreing Us on the Phantasy Star Front Hell they can even put Phantasy Star in VR it could be a nice throw back to the Classic games
Dreamcastic news! Long live the Dreamcast! Long live Sega!
@wiiware Seaman in VR!
slow news day, i guess? didn't you already report on this last year?
@wiiware OMG!!! I forgot about the light gun genre!!! Had lots of fun playing these games in arcades and at home, back in the day. This is a genre I would love to make a comeback. House of Dead. The Resident Evil game (seems like there was more than one) on the Wii. Time Crisses. Wow! Your comment brought back a flood of memories. Would love to see what could be done on today’s (or next gen’s) hardware.
@Enigk Let’s hope they do include him... all this nonsense needs to stop!

some more news about space channel 5 vr but no release date yet.
@gdog989 I've been protesting for a while to get the light gun games on psvr, still waiting for it to happen.
space channel 5 should really give people a workout if they utilise the move controllers lol
@Tasuki I can see where Sony got their censorship cue from. Your site has such a sissy way of thinking.
@CK97 Sorry you feel.that way but we get visitors of all ages here and it's not a sissy way of thinking to include everyone.
Besides you agreed to those terms when you created an account here.
@stuzster - Same here, MSR is still a favourite and a game I go back to quite often. I remember booting it up on launch day and being blown away by how much it was ahead of it's time in terms of visuals and it's real world locations. That intro still makes me grin like an idiot.
