Originally scheduled for launch in just a few weeks on 21st March, The Sinking City has been pushed back a couple of months to the Summer. Now releasing on 27th June, the team at Frogwares states that the reason for the delay comes down to being surrounded by bigger AAA titles during an already crowded month.
It's a refreshingly sincere apology and pushback from community manager Sergey Oganesyan, who states that the extra development time will allow the development team to optmise the game further in order to provide an even better experience. The Sinking City was indeed going to release in a crowded month, originally launching just a day before Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, while other heavy hitters such as Devil May Cry 5 and The Division 2 already have or are set to hit the market soon.

Does seem like a wise choice to make, or the game would easily get killed off by Sekiro.
I'm cautiously optimistic for The Sinking City, because while the trailer makes it seem very exciting, developer Frogwares has never made an especially good game in the nearly twenty years since their foundation.
A bit disappointing because i am actually Kinda looking forward to this game.
Oh Well it might be for the better Sales wise.
100% respect and understand their decision to push it back a little bit. The game looks great and it will be nice to play it when there's not so many other games releasing. Day one buy for me.
Completely understand the decision, I'm looking forward to trying this out 😊
Is this game digital only? I didn't see it on Amazon.
@RevengeFan I imagine the game will get listed on Amazon and other retailer's sites eventually, closer to the release date...
