You may remember that, about a week ago, board game specialist CMON announced God of War: The Card Game, an officially licensed adaptation of Kratos' Nordic PS4 adventure. Well, it seems it's not the only exclusive the company has in its sights. A Kickstarter campaign from CMON recently began for Bloodborne: The Board Game, another official spin-off in partnership with PlayStation.
And it's most definitely happening, because it blasted through its $200,000 goal in less than 20 minutes, with the total standing at over $1.6 million at the time of writing. This of course means many of the stretch goals have already been unlocked, and there's still several weeks of fundraising to go. Needless to say, it's been pretty darn successful so far.
The game itself lets one to four hunters explore the city of Yharnam, where they'll encounter familiar enemies and bosses on their quest. Detailed miniatures depict regular enemy types, as well as bosses such as Father Gascoigne, Vicar Amelia, and Cleric Beast. You'll use a card-based combat system to cleave your way through your foes in four different campaigns, each apparently taking between 60 and 90 minutes to complete.
It sounds quite promising, doesn't it? Backers will apparently receive the game in May 2020, with a $100 pledge securing a copy. What do you think of Bloodborne: The Board Game? Do you like these adaptations of PS4's best exclusives? Fear the old blood in the comments below.

Yeah, I sort of had to back it. I love Bloodborne and I'm really into painting miniatures at the moment. It looks promising.
Considering how the Dark Souls board game made barrels of money in seconds as well this is unsurprising in every sense of the word... Looks neat though!
The Dark Souls board game was generic, and if it had been reskinned no one would have noticed because its mechanics have nothing to do with dark souls. I wonder if this will be equally disappointing. I certainly want to try it.
Wow that's a lot of money already. I'm not really into board games but Bloodborne is awesome so this looks pretty cool
@NoxAeturnus
Completely different company making this board game so I wouldn't worry about it being similar to the Dark Souls one.
I was more worried about it being similar in design rather than in gameplay, but now that I've actually had a chance to follow the link and peruse the kickstarter, my initial concerns seem unfounded. This already looks MUCH better. Sigh. Looks like there's been a disturbance in my pocket, as if my wallet suddenly cried out in pain, and was silenced.
Edit: Sorry everyone, all along I was thinking of the terrible Bloodborne card game that already exists. I haven't actually played the Dark Souls board game, so I have nothing bad or good to say about it.
Got in on the Early Bird and looking forward to seeing what the addon expansions are going to bring!
Argh, this is so tempting, but as with the Dark Souls one before it the main thing keeping me back is that I just don't have any friends that would want to play this with me. Wish I could just order the miniatures!
@SegaBlueSky Well it's a co-op game, so it is probably possible to play alone. Might not be as fun, but probably possible.
@SegaBlueSky your from the uk I am from the uk lets make the magic happen. Oh you meant the board game my bad … jk lol
@NoxAeturnus Yeah, but then I'm paying $100 to play it on my own when I could just play the actual game I already own. I love Bloodborne but if I was gonna get this I'd have to justify the expense and at the moment I just don't think I can.
@MonkeyDLuffy19 😍
@SegaBlueSky That's fair. I mean, it's not cheap.
