Physical sales of Days Gone are larger than any other game released this year in the UK, according to Eurogamer.net. Despite launching on a Friday and being a brand new intellectual property from a studio making its PlayStation 4 debut, the adventures of Deacon St. John have managed to outpace some of 2019’s heaviest hitters, including Resident Evil 2, Kingdom Hearts 3, and Tom Clancy’s The Division 2.
While digital data is a big missing piece of the puzzle here, it’s an impressive result for Sony’s exclusive nonetheless, and a reminder of just how well the platform holder’s stepped up the marketing for its first-party titles of late. Assuming that the title is trending similarly well worldwide – and word is that it’s doing just great in the United States – then there’s every chance this could mark the start of a new series. Neat.

Not bad for a 7/10 game lol in all seriousness it shows a promising future for Bend, quite the feather in the cap to have
RIP Deacon St. John
A pipe will not win against a shotgun at point-blank range...
A few people are going to be upset that Deacon is now a PlayStation icon. 😎
Days gone is great. maybe not 9+ like TLOU but certainly not 6/10 or 7/10
These reviewers are a joke.
I've played a couple hours now and I'm enjoying it but there's definitely things I dislike. The AI seems pretty bad so far. Reminds me of Mafia 3
Forget a new series, I want days gone 4k and 60 fps update for ps5
Man, I'll buy ps5 day one if sony update their first party games to 4k and 60 fps, I'll definitely replay uncharted 4, spider-man, bloodborne, horizon, and of course days gone.
Mental really. This game hasn't been on my radar at all.
'Daryl the game' really just doesn't appeal.
As others have said though, good for Bend.
Looking back, it's funny all the people saying DG would be slaughtered by Anthem or others.
OR
That DG was 'planned' to release Fall 2018 and was 'ready' but was 'delayed' because of the competition.
Easier to trade in a physical game when completed
This game is hot garbage
Personally I'd five it a 9, only thing wrong is a few bugs and out of sync audio
Good for them!This is one game I had always planned to pick up day one but I decided to hold off due to the fact I bought Zanki Zero earlier in the month instead and also my backlog is stupendously big.But as soon as I have completed at least two games I'll trade them in for this!
I, uh... Wonder if lots of people went physical for this one just in case they want to trade it in.
@Wazeddie22 I was just here to read what people thought of DG, but I have to comment because of your profile picture. Lunar: The Silver Star is one of my all time favorite RPGs.
@TheTruthThis You realize professional reviewers are wrong and just bashed the game for no reason when user reviews on metacritics gives it a higher score than critic reviews. 99% of the time, it's the opposite.
Really, it's pretty obvious that user reviews are more accurate than critic reviews on Metacritics.
I love this game. Bend did an amazing job in my humble opinion. Making an open world game is no easy feet and given this was there first stab at the genera I think they mostly knocked it out of the park. Its not perfect, it has some control and pacing issues but at the end of the day its fun to play! I fondly remember the first Uncharted game being the same way and look how that sires evolved over time! I'm excited to see were Bend will take the series in the future.
@Wazeddie22 How do you like Zanki Zero? That’s the spiritual successor to the Danganronpa games right?
@WickedWitch if you believe that than you don’t know what a bad game is
@TheTruthThis We are glad you like the review but next time let's watch the language ok.
Thanks for understanding
Great! This game is a solid 8 to 8.5 imo. Don't know how you can score it much lower than that.
@ThePathsofPain Nice to meet another fan! The Lunar games were absolutely fantastic and they were what started me on the road to my love of rpgs.
@Th3solution I haven't played much of it yet to be honest but let's just say I spent about 5 hours on the demo that convinced me to buy it.Has a very Danganronpa feel about the game and unlike a lot of people im loving the combat.Recommended.
@Wazeddie22 same here. My parents got me a second hand SEGA CD and all the games the guy was selling, that was one of them. I sank so much time into that game. At the time, it was like nothing I’d ever played before. It’ll always hold a special place in my heart.
@eltomo At least Firstparty games have value when you trade them in.
@Turismo4GT
It would if it was COD WWII lol
maybe its success will encourage other big publishers to invest in new IPs instead of re-hashing the same old franchises every 1-2 years. OTOH, maybe people just can't get enough zombies...
feedback from players in general seems to be more favourable than reviews (or at least the anglo media ones), so that might also be helping it do it reasonably well.
@RoyalGuard quite easy. whilst im enjoying the game id say its at least a solid 7/10.
various things, like the character Deacon is pretty bland. the voice acting at times is terrible for deacon as well. the AI again at times is pants. customisation isnt that good and id have expected more creativity for weapons and the bike itself. its a good game and i am enjoying it as i said, but the other Sony titles blow it out the water.
just shows that there are times when we the consumer couldnt care less about critics review scores and i am loving it.
I played for like 3 hours and I haven't seen a single bug yet, and I'm enjoying the game, it's really fun!
But I'm glad it's selling well and they can make the game even better with dlc and patches
Haven't bought but glad that a new IP single player game with solid reviews is selling well against other big titles.
@dark_knightmare2 worse game ever!
People are probably buying this as a physical copy so they can sell it quickly. Not a game you are going to want to play again
Well effing deserved, imo.
@Jimbutters appreciate your opinion......
@RoyalGuard it's alright thanks. No need to become a sarcastic bugger. That's how I feel about the game. Just because you are bumming the game doesn't mean everyone else is or should be.
