Phwoar, March was some month for PlayStation 4. Sony's console was showered with several top quality titles -- especially if you're a fan of fast and frantic action -- and as per usual, we've gathered the Push Square team in order to determine our Game of the Month. After an incredibly close staff vote, here's our top four...
Bronze Trophy: The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel
There's no denying that Trails of Cold Steel looks rough when it's blown up on a big TV, but get past the portable-level graphics and you'll find an intricate, brilliantly fleshed-out role-playing game. At its very best, it's an utterly engrossing experience, topped off with some excellent characters. We called it a "borderline classic" in our 8/10 review, praising its writing, storytelling, character development, world building, and "rock solid" turn based combat system. If you missed Trails of Cold Steel on PS3 and Vita, then we can't recommend this PS4 port enough.

Silver Trophy: The Division 2
Out of all the looter shooters on PS4, The Division 2 stands as the only one that's felt "complete" at launch. Developer Massive Entertainment deserves a lot of credit for stuffing so much, er, stuff into this intense cover-based adventure, and the immensely detailed world that it's created is a benchmark for the genre. Although we dinged the game for a number of bugs and balancing issues in our 7/10 review, we did say that with a few tweaks, The Division 2 could be something very special. In any case, this is what a sequel should be: an improvement on everything that came before.

Gold Trophy: Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
Bloody, brutal, and oddly beautiful at times, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is a masterful action game. From Software's knack for crafting tense, haunting virtual spaces is alive and well here as a lone shinobi faces off against an array of nightmarish foes. Associate editor Stephen Tailby had to summon all of his courage to review this one, calling it "a fiercely challenging, yet highly compelling action adventure". A great 8/10 for From's latest.

Platinum Trophy: Devil May Cry 5
Wow, what a game. Capcom's back and it's racking up those stylish points like no one's business. Devil May Cry 5 is quite easily one of the best action titles on PS4, providing some of the most memorable moments of this console generation. Honestly, it's one of those games that you've just got to go and play for yourself -- it really gets the adrenaline pumping.
"Flawless in the execution of its often jaw-dropping combat, it's a masterfully crafted title that begs to be played over and over again," we wrote in our 9/10 review. "Among a sea of uninspired open world outings, Devil May Cry 5 is an explosion of character and laser-focused excellence," we concluded. Better than a SSS combo rank, Devil May Cry 5 is our Game of the Month for March 2019.

What was your PS4 Game of the Month for March 2019? Vote for your favourite in our poll, and then let your voice be heard in the comments section below.
How we decide our Game of the Month: At the end of each month, the editorial team put together a list of nominees. Nominees must have been released within the month, and preferably, they should have been reviewed by Push Square. We select nominees based on our own review scores.
The editorial team then presents this list of nominees to the rest of the Push Square staff. Staff are asked to vote for three games that they think deserve to be crowned Game of the Month. First choice gets 3 points, second choice gets 2 points, and third choice gets 1 point. When voting closes, we tally the results to determine the order of this article. The game with the most points is our Game of the Month.

Sekiro and Devil May Cry 5 are both great games. I give the edge to Sekiro because of how much joy
and pride I felt whenever I overcame a really challenging boss.
The Division 2 hands down. I'm 100+ hours in already.
DMC5 was game of the month for me easily as it's currently my GOTY frontrunner.
That was a hard call as I loved DMC and I love Sekiro too.
I went Sekiro due to the fact I love the combat system and the setting and sence of accomplishment when you nail a boss after 2 days of dying. Both great games tho.
Devil May Cry 5 is really good, yesterday I started to play Sekiro.
all 4 games are amazing but I would say.1 sekiro.2 devil may cry 5.3.the division 2.4.trials of cold steel.word up son
Devil may cry V is my number one pick, with sekiro and cold steels for number 2 and 3
Clearly a good month!
No love for dmc5 ? 🙃 trails is definitely on my wishlist. Need to clear my backlog as its very time consuming with 3/4 games out at the same time
TD2
A strong month indeed, I've seen a few comments suggesting Sekiro might be the best game of 2019. It might well be, we shall see, it will definitely be a contender I think.
I'll just be back here playing Toejam and Earl: Back in the Groove.
DMC5 for me. It's absurd, ridiculous...and beautifully addictive as feck.
Division 2 for me as I have no interest in the others though glad they're solid games. Great month overall,
Sekiro’s been OK so far but i’m still trying to get to grips with the combat. I usually end up going back to FFXII:TZA as it’s pretty relaxing with x4 speed and proper gambits set up.
@nessisonett yeah it's pretty trick indeed. It does help once you start unlocking some of the passive abilities but bosses will still kick your arse tho.
DMC5 is my game of the month. Enjoyed it from start to finish.
DMC5 is just so amazing. I haven't tried any of the other 3 yet.
DMC5 is everything I need right now. Given that I don't have a lot of free time to play videogames anymore, I'm still halfway through and loving every minute of it. I am one who's not very keen on major character changes in well-established franchises, but V's gameplay positively surprised me. A lot.
Absolutely loved DMC5 for the most part.
As someone who loves BB and DS3, I'm somewhat mixed about Sekiro at the moment. At it's core it is generally fun, has a great setting. However relying on the posture system isn't that satisfying, and it sometimes feels like the game is too fast for your character.
I'm yet to play any of the above so I won't vote on this one but I am pleased that dmc 5 is good and I'll probably pick it up alongside Days Gone when pay day comes around.
@nessisonett nice choice. FFXII is an underrated classic in my opinion. It's in my top 3 of the ps2 era for sure.
Sekiro being a new game its fresh and exciting. Hands down the best of the month. Possible game of the year??
@johnny30 devil may cry 5 was game of the month so what do you mean?
@JoeBlogs your not wrong there buddy, I love gaming I really do but I have to squeeze a life in there and do a job so yeah it's basically impossible for a semi responsible adult like myself to play everything. Dmc 5 is what appeals to me most this month as, while I do enjoy "souls" games like Sekiro. They are a special kind of brutal that I have to be in the right mood for whereas I'm always up for some flashy, over the top, letter graded combos. Screw it I'll vote dmc why not.
Great month overall. Wide selection of game types. 2019 gaming is just fantastic so far.
All great games ,but I do love my JRPG!
Devil May Cry 5
The Division 2 without a doubt, only played about 9 hours due to working a lot of OT but enjoying every second of it!
