Sony surprisingly announced the official existence of the PlayStation 5 today, outlining various details about the next-gen console. And tucked away in Wired’s article is confirmation that developers already have access to the device – and that the company is ramping up the deployment of devkits in order to ensure that studios are well adjusted to the unit come launch.
This means that both first-party and third-party teams should have plenty of time to explore new features such as ray tracing and 3D audio, resulting in a better slate of launch titles. Of course, while we already know a lot about the system, there’s plenty that the company’s keeping underwraps – what will its controller be like, for example?
It’s going to be an incredibly exciting 18 months, folks.

18 months?
I must have missed that in the articles.
@SlimDrizzyLamar Have they confirmed a new IP, or could they be adding multiplayer to Horizon? Still torn on that idea. Co-op monster huntung could be sweet. But i dont feel the series necessarily needs it.
Sony potentially has a killer exclusive line up for ps5 already:
The rumoured Uncharted game
God of War 2
Horizon 2
Spiderman 2
Death Stranding (cross-gen)
Ghost of Tsushima (cross-gen)
Last of Us 2 (cross-gen)
Dreams (cross-gen)
Gran Turismo sport (cross-gen)
Anything ive missed?
I guess this why suckerpunch has that joblisting for ghost of tsushima, they've gotten an extension for their deadline so might as well polish it up eh
@Rob_230 Japan Studio’s rumored jrpg, Ape Escape reboot or remake, probably Blue Point’s new remake, Supermassive also announced that they have a few exclusives on the works so perhaps Until Dawn 2 and of course more Knack. But definitely there’ll be a new Ip from some third party developer.
The same message MS said about their 'Project Scorpio' at its E3 reveal over a year before it released too...
The controller will be the exact same with just a few tweaks. It almost the same as the very firs dualshock, so don't expect any drastic change.
Tho only thing I hope for from the controller is some kind of textured material on the back, like the newer Xbox controllers.. makes such a difference to the comfort of holding the controller.
Oh and of course it would be nice if the PS5 didn't sound like a jet engine!
