Update: Brian Fargo has retweeted Kotaku's report on Larian's teaser. If you're wondering who he is, he co-founded Interplay, the company that published the old Baldur's Gate titles. It seems he could be involved in the new game.
Original story: It looks as though Larian Studios is on the brink of revealing something quite exciting for old-school RPG fans. The Baldur's Gate games are held in high regard, at the time making huge steps forward for the genre. While there have been several titles since 1998, including a couple on PlayStation 2, there's never been a Baldur's Gate 3. It looks like that could be about to change.
Larian's official website has been taken over by the above image. As pointed out by Kotaku, many believed this to be a hint at Divinity: Original Sin 3. However, a Twitter user investigated further, and found several references to Baldur's Gate 3 hidden within the page's HTML code.
The developer has been quietly making universally acclaimed RPGs for a while now; its Original Sin games, both of which made their way to PS4, are both widely celebrated in their own right. In light of this, it's possible the team has secured the licence to produce a new Baldur's Gate, and hey, E3 is right around the corner. Whether the game makes it to consoles is another question, but there's no real reason for it not to.
What do you think? Does this all mean Baldur's Gate 3 is on the way from Larian Studios? Roll the dice in the comments below.

Still waiting for Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance 3...
divinity original sin is still one of the best rpgs of all times.and I'm playing this game on the weekends.word up son
Oooh that would be cool, old-school is best-school as far as RPGs are concerned. Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale/Neverwinter ... all somewhere in the top of my favourite RPGs ever made. I certainly wouldn't complain about another Divinity title either.
Dude, not gonna lie. I saw those news and got a half chub.
I played the first 2 games endlessly, to date they're still my favorite RPGs, and a few months ago I bought Divinity 2 on a discount on steam, well 97 hours in and I gotta say this is an amazing game.
Can't even imagine what Larian Studios will do with BG3, but my body is ready.
I truly hope that’s what it means. I think Larian Studios would do a fantastic job with the property. A new Baldur’s Gate, done right, would be amazing.
Go for the eyes, Boo! GO FOR THE EYES!!
If anyone could do it right, it’s them. Although, I’m more of a Planescape: Torment guy than a Baldur’s Gate guy. The D&D rules are just a wee bit too old-school for me with all that THAC0 and stuff.
If anyone could do it justice, it'd be them. DOS2 gave me the same kind of feeling, updated to the modern day, as BG1 did when I played it about half my life ago.
@nessisonett Torment uses the same rules, though. I guess it's easier to not engage with the rules since combat is just a side note in PST. I prefer it too, by the way, it's one of my favourite games of all time.
@Matroska Yeah, the combat feels a lot simpler than BG plus it often doesn’t even come to combat if you play your cards right. It feels like the good old days of playing D&D and going down the whole ‘give the orcs your provisions to stop them eating you’ route.
@nessisonett It’s not evenness old-school, D&D never we’re meant to work with rapid turns and such like in BG. Divinity OS 2 is what D&D actually plays like, not BG. BG is a disrespect and murder of how D&D combat works. It was just always bad.
