Update: The information that was on the E3 website has now been removed. Whoops! We've embedded a screenshot of the original blurb below (thanks, Reddit).
Original story: It's almost time to get our first glimpse of Marvel's Avengers. Yesterday, it was revealed that Square Enix will show off the superhero action title during the publisher's E3 2019 press conference. We're still mostly in the dark about how the game will actually play -- or we were, until the official E3 website has gave us some broad details.
In the schedule for E3 Coliseum, the event-long livestream hosted by Geoff Keighley, a segment called 'Marvel's Avengers Showcase' has a couple of tidbits that give us a brief idea of what to expect. It states the game "combines cinematic storytelling with continuous single-player and co-operative gameplay." As well as confirming co-op, it goes on to mention customisation and the ability to combine powers: "assemble in teams up to four players, master extraordinary abilities, customize your heroes to fit your playstyle, and combine powers to defend an ever-expanding world under constant threat."
By the sound of it, players will be able to take control of heroes like Captain America and Thor, customise their moves, and play cooperatively to ward off the bad guys. If Crystal Dynamics can pull it off, it could be pretty impressive. All eyes on Square's E3 presser, then.

This sounds a lot like Marvel:Ultimate Alliance to me. Which would be pretty great!
@Westernwolf4 was thinking the same. If it's a more thematically "mature" game in the vein of Ultimate Alliance I'm all aboard for that. Probably the game I'm most excited about seeing this e3!
TMNT arcade game clone *fingers crossed
A Marvel Ultimate Alliance in a more 3rd person cinematic action game, right up my street.
Ghostbusters remaster just annouced for PS4.
If this sticks to the title - Marvel's Avengers - the playable character list will pale in comparison to MUA3 which we know at least has some X-men in it.
My guess is the 2 games won't be anything alike but it's going to be HZD vs BotW all over again. Unless Squenix takes it's usual time and this releases in 7-10 years. It already feels late.
Actually rather than comparing it to MUA3 it really probably has to worry about living up to Spiderman. Gonna be tough.
Just FYI, looks like the Coliseum site has now taken down that description. Might be worth grabbing a screen shot if you still have the cache
@rjejr ultimate alliance always had more than avengers like xmen.
Im interested in this game. Really hope it turns out well and makes me forget about ultimate alliance 3 not being on the ps4.
@kintaris Thanks for the heads up. The story has been updated.

@REVENGEFAN That's a really crappy game though. TMNT is still pretty good 😁
I wonder what are the chances of this launching this year ? Fingers crossed 🤞🏽
@NintendoFan4Lyf Thanks, dont' think I've ever won anything before.
Let's not insult other users names. Thanks -Tasuki-
Already looks better than Marvel Alliance 3
It's a racing game.
Thor and The Avengers in Askart.
@rjejr I’d much rather they have less characters and the characters that’s re there feel mire unique and different from each other. I’m hoping this plays nothing like Ultimate Alliance. Nothing at all.
I hope it's more along the lines of Spider-Man but with focus on co-op gameplay.
No offense to any Ultimate Alliance fans out there...
