Dauntless, a project that's been hovering around for quite some time now, is finally launching on PlayStation 4 this month. The free-to-play title has a lot in common with Monster Hunter in terms of gameplay and structure. You're tasked with tracking down and slaying large beasts in order to upgrade your character, and like Capcom's series, there are various weapon types to master, and you'll need to learn enemy attack patterns in order to survive.
If you want to see the game in action, we've embedded some new PS4 Pro gameplay throughout this article.
Dauntless launches on the 21st May on PS4, so at the time of writing, it's just over a week away. Think you'll be giving it a shot? Hunt down some behemoths in the comments section below.

Looks solid, will definitely give it a go.
It looks just as crap as Monster Hunter. Pass.
Right, that's my troll post of the day done.
Free to play. What's the catch?
@Rossif3r @Octane I believe it has season pass-style premium things, like battle passes in Fortnite.

"Hunt Pass". So my understanding is if you buy these things you get access to more rewards while playing the game — cosmetic stuff by the looks of it.
@Rossif3r Laziness is my name.
For some reason the artwork seems cheap to me, but I think I'll give it a go.
Been playing for 20-40 hours on PC. It's solid, no exp halts for free, Hunt Pass is just cosmetic stuff not pay to win.
@ShogunRok So it's basically identical to Fortnite's monetisation strategy? Except this doesn't have the same "Fortnite = bad because we're real gamers" thing going on so people will cut it some slack.
@Athrum
Exactly. I think they nailed the free to play graphics really well. The quiet man is still the most useless game I have seen. Who knows maybe this could dethrone it. DieKaiser92.. Ouut!!!
Looks decent. Will be giving this and Caravan Stories a go when they release.
@DieKaiser92 is the quiet man f2p?
might give this one a shot if I clear some of my backlog before its release date
